Yes please stay. I remember Trav made the tough decision to stay in 2012, when there were offers from Vic. Even if we get 2 first rounders for him it's still not enough. He is our best player and heart and soul of the club. A mongrel like him and JHF in the middle is all we need for the next 7-8 years.

I think it's time to accept that he won't be re-signing this year. He'll let it go to next year and let his value rise and max it out next year. That's not a problem for Port because we've got the salary cap, so it'll be solely on whether he sees us as a premiership potential under Carr and whether he's fine to end his career in Adelaide.

It's an agonising situation for us fans though, because we want to lock him in now but that won't be happening this year. Whoever he makes a deal with, including us, will be next year

The Tasmania thing bothers me.

The AFL want them to succeed. Ken's probably coach.

Whatever anyone offers Tasmania offer alot more and the AFL offer as much off field in some sort of promotional deal.

Is there any chance of Carr taking over the head coach role and him declaring Butters as his captain?

Crazy Eyes had a gargantuan game against the Hawks. Killed them from the first second of the game and had done with them by half time when the baby was sleeping in the cot after singing a few nursery rhymes.

When Carr takes over, we won't feel like we need to change captain.

It could happen in a Mitchell to Hodge sort of change, but I doubt it will. I'd like to see Connor have a go under Carr but I also wouldn't be upset with a change.

I dunno. Connor has give me the absolute shits in a few games recently and I'm never shy about expressing such. But there have been a few little signs here and there, like the big hit he put on a player near the boundary last night to try and let his teammate get the ball (cant remember who exactly, maybe Sinn or Jones).

Maybe he can actually grow into that Port-style captain that we want and need. Maybe under Carr. Maybe.

Im curious to see how he goes this week, with the James Jordon tag, Hasn't shown the ability to shake a tag as of yet.

I observe butters the most out of everyone because he's my favourite player since gray, througout the years i have learnt how he moves when he is running to each end of the field. When i was at the saints game and hawks game, he looked to not be covering the ground as per usual, this is because of his knee you would think, so its going to be very hard for him to outrun and shake his tag.

Most of his possessions have been at stoppage, not often he has two games in a row with 14+ contested possessions and 8+ clearances. He averaged maybe 2 bounces per game, he is yet to bounce the ball over the last 2 games.

JHF has been more on the outside since butters has returned, his inside game has remained fabulous as well though, i love him on the outside, but i expect butters to get his outside game clicking into geer once he gets more games and his knee starts adapting to games every week.

For now im enjoying ball winning, clearences butters, and jhf picking up the slack on the outside, whilst his inside game remains great.

The Hornet and even Mead benefitted from Butters inside work.
