I don’t understand how they plan to spend $1B and the stadium capacity only rises from 20,000 to 23,000 people.

Surely the path to ROI is to increase yield and make it hold more people?

They’re treating Tassie like GWS or Suns, who both have ~25K stadiums. And that makes sense when you’re (1) entering into a non-AFL market and (2) have a big stadium next door / up the road to expand into later down the track.

Tassie is an AFL state. Geelong would be much a better model (Kardina is a 40K stadium)

Plenty of corporates are much the same. Bonuses, travel to “events” etc, etc.
And not only is that shareholders money, but they also make it a tax deduction so it’s taxpayers money!
