I think that's being generous.I don't have a problem with it. I think it is worth watching the press conference and listening to Woosha's perspective. The only mistake Oscar has made is that it went public. Unfortunately, nuffies in here don't understand that EVERY AFL player is affected by trades and free agency at some point.
Was Judd meeting oppo clubs in round 3?
And being g in damage control for the next 20 odd rounds?
No. He acted professionally.

Judd admitted that he made up his mind to leave WC in 2005.
You could not fault in his 2005-2007 performances.
We'll net you pick 3. You'll be thanking us.
No need to suck us off....
This is where you need to listen to Woosha. He's pretty much admitted that we do this as well without saying that we do this as well. Simmo mentioned that he had spoken to a club captain himself. It happens. We just don't usually see it.
Club captains are a bit different in that their place in clubs is usually more cemented however they're not immune to having to go through this process of renewing contracts. It just so happens that Oscar is captain of the club at a time where we have another top 10 forward in the comp with three very good KPF prospects coming through so it doesn't make sense for the club to give Oscar what he wants. So he looks at his options.
As Woosha has alluded to, the only thing Oscar is guilty of is being caught. It's sad and frustrating to you. It's business for everyone in AFL land.
As far as dealing with any fall out, Oscar's only obligation is to turn up and play good footy, which he isn't doing at the moment. I would like to think this whole saga has been educational for people because the bloke is entitled to try to get the best deal possible for himself.
I think that's being generous.
He has every right to hear contract offers from rival clubs. But meeting publicly with the head coach of an opposition club after round 3? That's just moronic. Let alone when you're the captain of a club.
Club is sticking by Oscar to safe face. Nothing more.
Spot on mateFor what it’s worth, expect a presser tomorrow for OA to face the music.

Baker has no speaking presence or finesse he’s a good soldier but not Captain material ..I think he should make the decision himself to resign the captaincy. And the biggest reason isn't his meeting with Mitchell it is that he is a weak captain at a time when we need a really strong captain. His personality is not suited to it. He doesn't look like he even really wants to be Captain. Thats not his fault, leadership doesn't suit everybody. But if you were Allen and looked at how Baker goes about things and the impact he has on the other players and compared that to yourself the next move is pretty obvious - go to the coach and say you think Baker should be Captain instead.
Really?
The club captain's only obligation is to turn up and play well?
So they don't need to.....you know.....lead by example on and off field? Aka be the captain?
Be the face of the club for sponsors and fans?
Sell the clubs bright prospects to sponsors, fans and players current and future?
If he just wanted to be a player sure.
But a club captain carries much more responsibility than just turning up and playing well. Much much more. THATS why they are the captain of the club.
Ok you can suck me off if you feel that strongly about it. But this is a once off kent.DON'T SPEAK FOR ME CAMPAIGNER!!!

my ears are bleeding after listening to that
what a load of horse crap
Surprised it wasn't also 10 sizes too big for him

And remember they messed us around with the TB deal. The AFL is a small pond. People have long memories. What’s ‘clever’ in the short term might just bite you on the arse in the long term. Can't imagine any further negotiations with the Hawks will be as easy as Mitchell would like!
Doesn't bother me in the slightest. He's perfectly within his rights to do that.So in your mind it's fine for a club captain to meeting an opposition coach in round 3 and for that meeting ends up in the public eye?
You dont see the hypocrisy in talking to clubs and directly with an opposition coach about leaving whilst currently holding the captaincy and selling the future of the club?
If you don't get that then maybe you need some growing up.
A random player not in the clubs leadership group fine. Go for it. No issues. They aren't standing in front of the camera selling the club every day they go to work.
Club captain? Just not on. If you do it you do it through your manager and make sure it never gets out.
