Should of really given the skipper a game off in that stretch - was likely to happen to one of the older players in the league

Yes we should have. The positives would have outweighed any negatives

Gives Jas a game as Captain, gives the team a look at what life is like after Kearney. She gets some rest to refresh for the rest of the year and finals.

And I think Kearney has been a little bit below her best since last years final series and made some very uncharacteristic mistakes.

She’s still got the smarts but I think the body is slowing down a bit.

And in my opinion when Kearney does retire the prime candidate to take her spot is one Jas Garner, if our midfield has evolved enough that she is surplus and allows her to play behind the ball, the way it did for Kearney

Probably extends her career a bit as well.

Wright needs to lift - she puts her fellow defenders under more pressure with her **** ups.
Shannon is waiting in the wings.

No nostra - I don’t need you to lay the boots in
🤣 You can’t have it both ways. Sarah was as Sarah is. Sometimes, we benefit from her, other times, not so much. N has a lower threshold than the rest of us.

Taking into account all the circumstances of the match, what a great win.

Loving the confidence we have in our ability & game plan and the way we are able to take it up a notch when it matters.

Players look like they are enjoying their footy & I am loving it.

Three games in 10 days (two in terrible conditions) and we win all of them. It was an outstanding win against a good opponent.

Having read The Age this morning I had to double check the ladder. Yep. Still clear on top, undefeated, with a percentage nearly 100 above the next best (although the draw kind of makes that a bit redundant). Yet the Age somehow thinks we're struggling a bit. Hmm...OK.

We are struggling, we only won by 12pts, not 12 goals. ;)

Bresnehan really got down and dirty in the first quarter when the Tigers had the upperhand. She’s the epitome of “under the radar”.
She had a slow start to the year but is getting better with each game.

Season is young and don't want to be disrespectful but I agree. She's been a touch down, still better than many however hopefully just working into the season.

Good. I want them hungry and pissed off all year.

Jeez, I was thinking “here’s another North BF guy jumping at shadows again” 🤣. Then, I read the article in question! I apologise for doubting you, M. It’s just full on garbage. She doesn’t have a good word to say about us at all. Just relentlessly nitpicking at anything she can think of.

Yep, and based her thoughts off the special comments people, "Sarah Rowe said..." and "Chyloe Kurdas said..."
Might've been worth the author taking a look at the weather as to why North didn't score too well in those two games. Also chose to ignore the game in the middle & the absolute pasting they gave Carlton.
All in all, two beltings and one fairly comprehensive win in three games played in pretty horrific conditions is a job well done for me

You inspired me to read that article by Marnie Vanilli. Never again...

I just read the article and:

Kearney out injured is a big loss (yep, fair enough). Using the Sarah Rowe quote about the importance of Kearney to our game made sense. But, it’s all downhill from there.

We beat a fellow top 4 side by 12 points (12 scoring shots to 5) in abysmal conditions after losing our champion skipper early in the first quarter. Not to mention that the Tigers had 2 extra days recovery during the condensed fixture. No mention that the Port game was over by half-time and that their only score came from a free during a second half played in shocking conditions.
Clearly this undefeated team is in deep trouble… sack the coach, sack the bootstudder, sack everyone I say after reading this article 😬😬😬

We need to find a way to get Conti across to North for next season!

That would just be the icing on the cake
I think she recently signed an extension to stay at the Tigers till the 2027 season.

What does it say about the footy media when Emma Kearney and Libby Birch are no.1 and no.2 in The Age's AFLW tipping comp?

And Marnie Vinall is last. Hey, I'm not much good at tipping either, though at least neither one of us were so foolish to tip Carlton over North Melbourne last week... unlike 20% of the experts at AFL.com.au.

LOL

Kind of sums it up hey.
