Vossy was flavour of the month last year and was incredibly unlucky not to get them into the finals.

Hard to think it's all turned pear shaped in 10 games. They'll eat him alive if they keep losing.

3rd last beating last by 116 points. What an embarrassment. At least the "who gets Harley Reid?" discussions will be closed early.
Harley Reid in an interview this week when asked > what are your thoughts on an interstate move?

A- Well I am a country boy and I am very close to my family.

Not the standard I am happy to play AFL anywhere reply.

I thought I'd heard he was happy to play anywhere but couldn't tell you where. Hope that is the case. There's a significant issue that needs to be addressed if teams can't confidently draft the best kid available regardless of the state they or he reside.

Jack Martin v Bobby Hill.
One always injured the other an excitement machine.Eonder who was cheaper?

Hype about the game and you hope for an upset but the reality is Blues are 2 levels down from the Pies

Turning it off
Yer I got home near the end of the first quarter, looked at the score and decided nah not going to watch it, the circle jerking from the commentators about how good the Magpies are would make me chunder.

Much better entertainment watching the granddaughter play soccer⚽, should not have rushed home.

Big boost to the Goulburn Valley's chances of getting the AFL's 20th license.

Collingwood have stopped thinking they're just a win at all costs gutsy team who never says die and now think that they're genuinely good.

Which is the problem if you play them from now on.

Nah, still got a lot of risk taking in how they play. It's all masked by the dare, hard running and overlap play. They can be caught out by a high quality midfield and sharp forward line. Our only issue matching up with them previously was defence, we've settled that well with a Andrews-Payne 1-2.

I had my doubts before but the more I watch them, I think we can get them even with their best 22.

Absolutely agree... I have no doubts that if we get to September in good shape injury wise we can win the whole shebang and that includes beating any team at full strength.

Yep, our biggest challenge is going to be in-game tactics that coaches like Chris Scott, Hinkley, Goodwin and few others bring up - how well we pick up and react to them or nullify them. Next round is the first test on this aspect, Crows at Adelaide Oval will be a decent test for our group while we're in a winning streak and in form.

This is the year. Previous Premiers in Melbourne and Geelong dropping off and not sold on Collingwood.
Agree this is THE year although with our 5 oldest players being Zorko(34), Rich(32), Gunston(31) and Lyons/Lester(30)... IMO all are not absolutely vital to ongoing flag contention I think we are in a decent flag window for 3-4 seasons.

But Collingwood are unbeatable. They’ve only lost one game and that wasn’t at the MCG and I can’t remember who that was, so it doesn’t count.

Who was it anyway?

This Collingwood team has redefined football. I can’t even comprehend them losing. Daicos is the best player of all time

I'm hopeful we can go deep into September this year but predicting who is going to win it at this point is brave.

Things can change. Nonetheless prepared to combine bravado with a bit of dreaming to say we are unbeatable. On our day . If it's dry and not windy. And if we get there.

And as long as we're not playing Collingwood.

yeh Tom, I'm pretty sure as well the vision doesn't even show contact..

immediate vision afterwards shows contact...

sure if not going to suspend him.. but gee wiz.

There have been years where we have thought that we could make the finals and even the grand final as long as another team took out team 'x' before we got to the GF since we were pretty sure we would lose to them ... of course the footy gods did not smile on our hopes and we were taken out in finals earlier.

This year I am not worried about any team being our kryptonite ... we can still lose but there is more of a feeling of being in charge of our own destiny this time around (injuries etc permitting of course).

Last year I felt we were definitely a better team then Sydney. Felt we were better than the Bulldogs in 2021 but it took us being screwed by the umps and our missed opportunities late in the game for them to go further than us. In 2019 we were a 3-5 goal better side than the Giants but our finals inexperience cost us.
