That bounces around a lot - only earlier today it was the same GF matchup but it was us 80 and them 81 (which would have been equally heart attack worthy but far more heart ripping!)
Only one thing better than belting Collingwood in a Grand Final > beating them by 1 point in a Grand Final. 2002-03 came pretty close to matching both of them.:D:hearts:

However losing to Collingwood by 1 point in a Grand Final would be an horrific nightmare come true.

Mate, we’ll be lucky to get the two second round picks they currently hold when Dev, Prior, Tunstill and Lane all ask to be traded to WC at the end of the season.

But Adam Oxley is a Queenslander

Nah they're desperate for experienced bodies to fast track their rebuild

And need home grown talent as well. They don't have an academy like we do

I still haven't gotten over losing a First Semi to them by one point.

Just watched Vossy’s press conference, you can clearly see the immense pressure mounting, he’s stumbling with words and you really get the feeling he’s lost for answers, a bit sad.

Are you being sarcastic? We beat them comfortably lol, very good side but not invincible if you can counter their never ending pressure.
(I am absolutely confident you can read that post with sarcasm)

Still, you feel like if the Pies can kick the next goal, they're still in that game

Collingwood's a genuine contender this year and will be there near the end.

Like it or lump it they play with real belief and confidence in each other.

They win a lot of games and rarely get belted.

A very even side where they all contribute.

Just accept it and realise they'll be tough to beat whoever they come up against.

The excitement and atmosphere was palpable when they kicked two in a row against us after we kicked ten in a row against them.

He'll be fine.

They're very much down on confidence and playing a lot worse than what they are . So in the end that comes back to the coaching and he's been around long enough to know it.

Carlton were pretty garbage today. They have invested so heavily in having strong kicking half backs, and then Docherty just misses targets under no pressure and turns it over in the middle of the ground.

Collingwood looked a little off today to be honest, if Carlton had any kind of composure and stopped bombing it to McKay and Curnow they might have actually been in with a chance. But the number of like, wobbled miskicks that Collingwood had today was noticable.

I do feel like Fly has instilled his defensive forward half pressure style he had as a player on all the forwards. It was similar to how we looked against Carlton, with alot of pressure from behind and just rattling the blues.

The key is to catch them on the fast transition and then get the forwards out the back as their defenders will swarm forward and make sure you hurt them on the scoreboard, Adelaide paid the price a few weeks ago. Obviously easier said than done.

Yep, they're a massive contender.

But give me the Pies on Grand Final day and watch them wobble as they always do.

Jack Martin v Bobby Hill.
One always injured the other an excitement machine.Eonder who was cheaper?

Considering how the trade for Jack Martin was carried out, a little bit of poetic justice one could say.
Kind of sad because Martin did give his all at the Suns so got the higher contract. Bobby kept showing up unfit and chucking the sads so got let go for not much. Doing so left his new club in a better spot.

My recollection was that Gold Coast wanted an exchange of pick 15 for Carlton's pick 9.

Carlton refused & offered them a future second round pick & a third round pick.

I might be mistaken, but I thought that's how it played out.

Gold Coast might have to deal with Carlton again this off season.
