Fair enough he had a good tenure.

But another GF debacle would have taken its toll.

Imagine Port Adelaide fans right now with there man Ken staying defiant.
Will be heavily sought after next season. Eagles wouldn't be overly happy with the timing, which is delicious.

Interesting timing, after delistings, trade and days after the draft

Would you rather not make a grand final? Or get belted continuously in them?

I'd rather make the grand final every year and lose 75% of them, because no side that didn't make the grand final wins the flag and you might benefit from some bad luck on the opposition regarding fitness.

The issue would be if the game plan is so inflexible that it requires the ball to move through specific players surrounded by roles that mostly negate the opposition. Now, I'm not saying that's what is wrong with Sydney, but that's exactly how we beat them over in Sydney and everyone noticed league wide - we shut down their key play makers and they had to start their game from half back.

They are still good at that, and almost pinched it back, but we completely stomped their ball movement.

It's weird to say because he's been so excellent for so long and his team just made the granny, but he definitely looked exhausted and out of ideas at times in the second part of this year. As Lach said give him 12 months off and he'll have many suitors if he can get his passion back. We'd be stupid to not be asking the question at the right time next year but we'll be one of many

Had anybody even considered the Swans as a GF chance before the season kicked off?

Brisvegas was probably nominated at least in 60% of forecasts.

They're a fairly young side that came from the clouds. Nailing a GF performance against a seasoned opponent (who played in one the year before no less) was always long odds.

More personnel than plan that sunk them on the day.
