Needs to make Gather Round a permanent fixture in Adelaide beyond the expiration of the current deal.

Im sure it was never the intention of the AFL(VFL) for Gather Round to be so successful and popular in SA and importantly openly accepted by all Clubs and supporters. Our geographical location, infrastructure, time zone and being a strong footy state are one of many variables in our favour ahead of other states like WA or QLD trying to make future bids on Gather Round.

Like it or not, AFLW is the elite level in that sport. And Port Adelaide fields a team in the elite league. Why are governments giving us any money for our development, we’ve got perfectly fine admin and training facilities at footy park, plus a long lease. What about Hindmarsh stadium and the 36ers, they’re bursting at the seams.

The 10k I won the last tourney we played was half paid in cash and half direct deposit. Felt like I was interrogated worse by the bank than any of the security clearance interviews I've been part of

Walking out with 5k in an envelope is nerve wracking!

Yeah, my biggest score was $10k all cash in a tournament that finished after Sunday midnight in a suburban pub. Was shitting myself waling to my car for sure.

I remember some overseas pro got robbed crossing the bridge from Crown to his hotel in Melbourne at an Aussie Millions. Lost about $30k

Just had a recollection of life before credit cards or the Casino, 1970’s as a kid everything was cash.
Angle park dogs every Thursday night punters walking around with thousands
In top pockets, a ring of 20 bookmakers would pack up their white leather bags with Millions in todays money
and walk them out to the boot and drive home. No one ever seemed to get robbed which is crazy to think now.

In reading MrKK story I was thinking of the stories - never confirmed - of the early days of the Casino here and people having a big win and being met in the carpark or elsewhere

Yes the dogs and trots also had their share of stories

I seem to remember being constantly "robbed" by that ring of bookmakers.... except for that one night!!
