In hate it when conspiracy theorists state their speculations as fact and then use it to paint so-and-so as the devil, sowing hatred and discontent to further their agenda, what ever it is. No wonder social media gets such a bad wrap. Now if you had any actual evidence for your accusations I'll take it all back.

I'm all for hatred and discontent, when it's targeted towards Collingwood.

That being said, they were suspiciously lax on any discussion of how long it had been going on and whether they consciously went over the cap

Which is completely different to the allegations made by carmo with zero evidence.

The question is did they go over the salary cap that year - or were they simply forced to trade them so that they wouldn't go over the cap in the following year?

If they exceeded the cap in any given year, then they should have been slammed with penalties. If it was entirely a pre-emptive measure, then no rules were broken, and no penalties should have been applied.

Should they have had access though? If you get two years of draft penalties meaning no first round and second round picks for those two years and you have a father son coming along who's a first round pick in those two years should you still get him?
Are you even being punished if you can just get him anyway?

What would've been reasonable is to still allow the father son to be picked but not be able to play games until the year the penalties ended.

I gave a piece of info that was pertinent to what the person I replied to wrote. It matches up with known things like the cheap and abrupt jettison of Treloar. The timeframe happens B4 Daicos comes along. Don't believe it, good, whatever, no skin off my nose. Seems like a couple of other ppl found it plausible.

It's certainly plausible. But it's also unprovable. Doesn't sound like anyone there put their misdemeanors down in emails ...

You think something as big as he claims that’s well known in the industry would not have been reported by the media?
Not a chance in hell, sure they might have been headed for breaching it, but that’s completely different to breaching it.

I could be wrong but I heard we made a specific under the table payment of $250k to his dad and put in writing that Tippett at the end of the next contract can leave with little compensation. Basically if a club wanted to give us a 3rd rounder Tippett was going to make us accept it. The club self reported on the back of Sydney not offering adequate compensation and Tippetts manager threatening the club. We screwed up big time but so did Tippett and frankly he probably should never have been allowed to play again. But when he came back he was all but useless anyway and a joke in AFL circles. Never reached the levels he did at the Crows anyway.

At least Sydney taught him to kick / kick straight!

Didn't Geelong breach it every year for almost a decade?

I think the cap gets breached by clubs, but unless there's conscious intent to manipulate the cap, then the league isn't that concerned. Incompetence doesn't worry them as much.

Punishment that would strip picks and not allow Daicos seems serious to me.
