Does anyone else think the Australian Cricket team are in denial about its current list of players? Much like the Eagles were a few years ago in the AFL. I am predicting a massive rebuild required in the next 12 to 18 months.
That's pretty spot on. The worst thing to happen would be to keep playing Smith/Labuschagne and have them make a big score. Like Dom Sheed having a good game and a new contract on the back of it.

The players simply aren’t there to replace them.

Outside of perhaps one or two players at most (and it’s marginal if at all) this is the best team we’ve got and anyone that thinks otherwise knows nothing about Australian cricket.

Don’t think they’re necessarily in denial but it is going to be as grim a rebuild of the team we’ve seen since the 1980s. If I were George Bailey I wouldn’t have done anything different. The other guys in ‘contention’ for the test squad aren’t any good or are injured (noting Inglis is in the squad). Beau Webster might be the one exception but Marsh is far from the problem anyway.

I genuinely fear this is a deeper problem tbh where we’ve failed to develop any more than a handful of decent international cricketers in a decade and that doesn’t look like changing. Looks grim for the future IMHO.

CA selectors are certainly in denial>Add Ronnie to that list as well.
I thought that during the last time in England they were coming undone. Remember the scatter brainfield placing and the all day bouncer barrages.
Looked like the skipper had lost it back then, But to use Marnus as a bouncer barrage bowler was stupidity at its worst.
People saying , But he bowled at 135, WOW, 135 from Marnus is not the same as 135 from the other quicks.

And the build should start from the beginning of the Adelaide test.

You guys are over-rating the rest of the world. It's almost impossible to be worse than the 4th best test team. We aren't going to be dominant but they'll be there abouts against anyone not Bumrah.

T20 hasn't hurt just our domestic scene
Bumrah has been amazing since he was stolen off that bloke's wall

Made a mistake naming a grandstand after a moronic midget wc flog

Didn't Langer also change the Australian change rooms to the WC ones? I reckon that would impact. All the leftover HJs, the Aussies have gotten fat.

Labuschagne will likely make a 100 where he gets dropped twice, gets given not out lbw when the oppo are out of reviews, and runs out two of his batting partners.
