Saints as the “home” team too, can’t imagine the Giants rocking the NS with white shorts though. Doesn’t really make a ton of sense. Actually reckon the matchup would be passable with GWS rocking full charcoal and the Saints wearing the hoops with white shorts. Will be an interesting one to say the least.Red and black hoops vs charcoal
Can't. ****ing. Wait.
Why would they need to distance themselves from that logo ?I'm not 100% confident with this retro jumper just yet but I should get a confirmation soon. An interesting theory someone told me about the wrong logo being on the jumper is that Collingwood are distancing themselves from the Australia flag logo. For those living in the city, would this be a likely thing they would wanna do?

The retro was promoted with white shorts so I'd assume they'd stick to it. I am actually fully disappointed with GWS, perfect oppotunity for the TAC Cup kit : (Saints as the “home” team too, can’t imagine the Giants rocking the NS with white shorts though. not with their home jumper tho it wontPerhaps Collingwood as the home team in white shorts would sought the problem?
I'm assuming it's too hard on the 2d image with the sash to have the AFL/ANZAC logos like they are on the actual jumper (lower down, with the gap being in-line with dutton). The fujitsu logo on the back has a black text box like a banner that goes across the sash. Both like they had in 2020/2021.
I'm sorry but did he say that the decision rests with the clubs??
And if teams wore the same jumpers they do now for 100+ years without issue surely they can continue to do so...if english football clubs were able to use away kits in the 19th century, surely carlton can do the same in the 21st century.
This clash exists because one of the teams literally isn’t wearing the jumper they wore for 100+ years. Granted it’s not on Collingwood to fix the clash in their home games, but the tradition argument is a very weak one here. And if teams wore the same jumpers they do now for 100+ years without issue surely they can continue to do so...
Admittedly it would be more of a solution than the current matchup, but the common sense decision is always going to be Carlton in their clash jumper when they’re the away team.Perhaps Collingwood as the home team in white shorts would sought the problem?
Maybe the AFL treating these games like every other game instead of turning a blind eye because of ‘tradition’ would solve the problem.Perhaps Collingwood as the home team in white shorts would sought the problem?
I wouldn't say the tradition argument is as weak at this point. I've grown up with the black home kit, we've won two premierships in it and it's been around for a quarter of a century, featuring in ~50 matchups across that time out of 267 matchups (~1/5th of the total H2H games between)This clash exists because one of the teams literally isn’t wearing the jumper they wore for 100+ years. Such a poor argumentAnd if teams wore the same jumpers they do now for 100+ years without issue surely they can continue to do so...
If there was no issue with it then it wouldn’t be talked about every year when this matchup happens without failAnd if teams wore the same jumpers they do now for 100+ years without issue surely they can continue to do so...
I am going off the Puma artwork.I'm assuming it's too hard on the 2d image with the sash to have the AFL/ANZAC logos like they are on the actual jumper (lower down, with the gap being in-line with dutton). Sure, it's not ideal but 10x better than last week:not with their home jumper tho it wont
what if carlton wear their clash jumper, like they do against Port ?
wide shot photo from same game? or of players back?
Port may be the Magpies, but they're not Collingwood.why do they wear their white against port?
An inverse of that wouldn't be bad as an alternate for use against Freo and maybe the Bulldogsnot a jumper but this is still beautiful
