The Media . All they want is click bait .
We have never had such an inexperienced midfield in the carlton game so the media just highlight all the negative . I don't want to do their job and expand on them by highlighting an example .
We are genuinely in rebuild and playing players who earn a spot due to their effort and heart is good to see . You wouldn't expect Hall and Gross to dominate in their first few games together .
Worsfolds reminder that it will take time and some pain is the best media content this week .

“But we have now instituted a range of severe measures to address this. In line with our supporters wishes from now on it’s nothing but rough love.

Kind of mentioned it before but I want a big cleanout, much bigger then they are doing so far. I wouldnt just keep a guy cos he has a contract like we have done in the past. Every one should be on notice. Delisting people with a contract should be a option.

Ive bounced back and forth on what I think we should do a bit but looking at this years draft, I dont think smashing our future on it is the way to go. We need to work and get aggressive. Sam Mitchell can meet players during the season and so should we. Id do the below

• Let Allen leave
• Delist about 10 players (Sheed, Kelly, Allen, Barnett, Petch, Hunt, Chesser, Jamieson, Rawlinson, Cripps)
• Find out what Harley wants to do now. He can either sign a new deal or be put on the trade table with his approval. If he wants to go he should leave now
• Target midfielders in the 22-25 year age bracket. Dont necessarily limit it to out of contract players. If Harley wants to go use that money now, not next year. Id be making Alex Davies a key target. Id be giving Ned Moyle a big contract. Id also be doing the same for Will Powell. Money needs to be spent on more then giving Jake Waterman a front ended deal. Past Gold Coast id be targeting Ed Allan, Leek Aleer, Wade Derskem, Ned Reeves, Harry Rowston and others)
• Forget about Warner. We are not ready
• If anyone isnt fit by Round 18, rest and get them ready for pre season. Basically rest everyone and rotate at that point. Plan for the biggest pre season we can have
• New midfield and ruck coaches unless our clearances improve
• Cheaper membershp tickets. Seems silly but to raise prices when we put in the performances we do is the height of arrogance. Be better
• Full club review into training standards + club culture. Sack anyone not in line
• Give big payrises pre emtpively to Hough, Ginbey, Archer Reid, Ryan Maric, Dewar. Anyone whose showing signs in the best 22 gets a early reward. Build culture by rewarding the right values

Beyond that just a culture reset across the board too

The fix cant just be at the draft . We have seen North try and fail at that. We need to look beyond that and fix the other stuff too

Yeah kane249 - how very ageist of you to compare Sumich who has never led a team at AFL level with his (age-wise) contemporaries who have made 11 Grand Finals and won five flags between them.

it is clearly a real struggle from our Members and supporters to accept the rabble of a footy club we currently are. Every person in the media pointing out the very obvious are not dinosours or have no idea. It is very clear we are a rabble and the light at the end of the tunnel is very dim indeed.
Why does it make any difference if Nathan Buckley calls us a rabble as opposed to Kevin bartlett? We are an embarrasment to the competition at the minute. We clearly are not fit, we do not train hard enough or even often enough. We have been trained and coached to be lazy for many years and it has become our DNA.
Stop worrying who is saying these things, it is all true. Mini has a massive job to clean up a mess very few coaches ever have had to clean up. The rebuild still isn't really in process yet as this year is another year that has to be wasted cleaning all the mess out of the club which is Simpsons players and attitudes.
The end of this year will see the biggest cut ever, players traded out and hopefully plenty drafted in. Mini will be simply putting together a list of players who can and a list who can't. The list that can't will be very long. Any player at our club that has been there 2 years or longer will be on notice that there career at our club is coming to an end unless an extraordinary change occurs.
Feel so much for Mini to have to walk into this diabolical mess, no coach at this level should have to take on a club with such low standards. He has no chance until he cleans out the Simpsons.

This is coming from perennial fence sitter Duffield (who was sacked from The West for being boring and refusing to stop sitting on the fence on everything). He bought into Covid/injury excuses and defended the club then. He refused to criticise Simpson or Nisbett until after they were sacked. In fact, not only did he refuse to criticise but he was softly cheerleading for them a lot of the time. Refused to talk about the attitudinal rot at the club and the obvious lack of fitness for all these years. Now, 3 or 4 years after it was obvious to many of the rest of us that things were going downhill in a bad way, he thinks he is offering some wise and sage commentary that isn't obvious to any of the rest of us that things have gone downhill in a bad way. What kind of muppet would pay to hear this guys drivel?

The time for a gentle, stimulating tantric tinker around the edges has long since passed. The only way forward is a complete and thorough, scorched-earth tinker. Leave no crevice untinkered. Just snap your rubber gloves on, get in there real deep with four fingers and get to work type tinker.

I don't really care who calls out how shit we are but the current coverage is pretty tiresome. Whether you are Hamish Brayshaw who played one game or Kevin Bartlett who played 400 shit reporting is shit reporting.

Highlighting Duggan's lack of effort vs GWS in the first minute. Useful.
Highlighting Ryan's effort vs Carlton and Waterman cracking the shits. Useful.
Highlighting Pat Cripps lining up for goal 10m out with no one on the mark. Useful.

Bringing up the Tim Kelly trade again and blaming it for the state of our list. Not useful and not accurate.
Presenting that we gave up pick 12 in 2021 and picks 3 and 15 in 2024. Not useful or correct.
Speculating over Oscar Allen and Harley Reid every week. Not useful.
