Have people already given up on Pedlar? I’m not seeing that.

What posters are questioning with his injury history, will he get his body right for AFL? That’s a big difference to giving up on Pedlar.

What some on this board like to do is make generalisations and frame an argument that’s not even being made ;)

It is interesting with Pedlar is they seem to have given up on turning him into a midfielder in the short term due to his body, he’s playing mostly forward. That has to change over time otherwise we’ve used another high pick on a small forward and we have a stacked forward line.

He needs to aim to take McHenry’s place because he’s the weakest link.
If he is sound and can’t push past McHenry we are going backwards

He'll be playing plenty of midfield if he's fit, his kind of acceleration from the contest is something our midfield lacks, also the fact he exits from stoppages are always towards goal...

Yep, if his body is sound and he’s not travelling well enough to get past McHenry then we have reason to be concerned.

Rachelle, Rankine, McAdam, Tex, RT and Fog are locks, so it’s McHenry. Add an in-form and fit Pedlar to that mix and that’s one dangerous forward line.

I just hope we don’t fall for the easy option and make him sub regularly, he needs games.

He’s training with the forwards though isn’t he? Plus he said towards the end of last year he’s working on playing up forward.

Over time it will be midfield but can’t see it next year.

And non to play as a defensive forward

Rachele will likely spend more time in the midfield than Peds next year.

Nah, haven't given up ....Pedlar's a MID .....but it's different horses for different courses .....ease him in, what's the rush to have him breakdown against bigger Mids

He needs to build his body up for the rigours of AFL. I f that means he plays sub regularly to continuity so be it. Not the easy option - the best option for him. Confident Burgess can work through this

Love how he is usually on the move at stoppages.

We should be looking to play him as a midfield/forward which we should be able to do with more players rotating.

Rachele, Rankin. Pedlar🍆
Interestingly Keays also mentioned today he will be playing as a midfielder/forward too... so hope this is finally the year we rotate more players through the midfield.

The 3 you mention are important part of the mix as it gives us more pace.

Good news reported today,

"Hard nut Luke Pedlar was with the As and small forward Ned McHenry with the Bs in the most noteworthy team selections during match simulation."

Who doesn't want more Pedlar content? He is looking like a real unit now and fingers crossed his body can stay injury free and he gets a real run at it and may turn out to be a very good top 10 pick. I know he was pick 11 but near enough. His cameos in the SANFL were electric.

I was hooked after some vision from match sim in his first preseason. Fingers crossed his body holds up, he looks strong as shit in that photo.
