Essendon should have Identified him as a thanks for coming player years ago but, as we know, Ess. recruiters have the brains of my wife.
Lol. She was smart enough to marry you wasnt she?

what most at north think, everyone seems very confident he staysSurely he stays.
Clarko doesn’t sound very confident.
A good hard at it mid, well now Tasmanian saint that is the most interesting statement about LDU I think I've ever heard, but you know what, everyone is allowed their say, no matter who it is, but a few things to keep in mind. Luke really came of age last year, if you didn't watch the whole games and just looked at the stats, or watched the odd game and a few highlights the process of forming a viable opinion isn't going to work out, it just isn't.LDU is a good hard at it mid , but i don’t see him as a absolute star type player , I can understand north over paying a bit to keep him but for other clubs to be offering well over a million a season is not overly smart
Okay, I'll play along, so which club is it this time, St Kilda, Collingwood, Geelong or Hawthorn?Gone
I'd let him go because I think they've got at least 3 more gifted players (and Sheezel is already better) to be the main guys in the middle and you can't be paying the 4th or 5th banana $1m+.
I get you don't want to lose mature players when trying to rise, but I think this is one example that might work overall.
I disagree - his 2nd half of 2024 was up there with the best in the game (18 brownlow votes from round 14) and was a deserving winner of our B&F.I'd let him go because I think they've got at least 3 more gifted players (and Sheezel is already better) to be the main guys in the middle and you can't be paying the 4th or 5th banana $1m+.

Sheezel and LDU are clearly our 2 best mids. We have midfield depth but losing LDU is losing real quality.
How confident are you off mckercher signing long term ? his obviously going to get a absolute monster offer from the Tasmanian team over coming seasons hopefully north can get him signed before to much longer! For the time being.....
McKercher will be better in time, I have no doubt about that.
Powell has looked better than Luke in every single match sim I've watched this pre-season.
I don't think there's going to be anything clearly about it by the end of the season, in not long it could purely be age and experience as the gap.
The sun will come up in the morning and it's in a position of extreme depth.
We got over JHF and he's arguably going to be one of the best in the comp for the next 10 years. He will be viewed as a bigger loss than LDU by neutrals, im sure of it.
Of course I want to keep him, but if he walks, he walks, no use crying over spilt milk. It would be a crazy time to leave the club after the years he's put in, I hope he's a scholar of Deledio or Griffens careers.
Very. I'm sure that both the new team and the AFL will throw crazy money at him, but he'll get a big deal staying too. I imagine we'll offer him a contract that takes him through to free agency, when he'll get even crazier money. And other than the money, how many cashed-up 20-year-olds from Launceston choose to move from Melbourne to Hobart? I think the Tassie team will have more success targeting older players who are starting families and do a lifestyle sell like Geelong do.How confident are you off mckercher signing long term ? his obviously going to get a absolute monster offer from the Tasmanian team over coming seasons hopefully north can get him signed before to much longer!
While the outcome admittedly exists within a quantum environment, the probability of LDU leaving even at this stage is disappointing for vested interestsYeah he is gone.
Hawks and Pies seem the best fits can't see him going to Saints Essendon etc
It's not ideal, Nth have a stack of talent coming through, I wouldn't be to concerned if I'm a Nth supporter.

Interesting theory. Could well play out that way.Left ages ago.
Thats why we parted with future first last year.
Inb4 not worth first round.
Yep I base it on absolutely nothing at all.Interesting theory. Could well play out that way.
Seeing as they beat us by 96 points 2 games ago it’s heading in the right direction. That might be all LDU needs. With how North started the season against a undermanned Dogs and the fixture of hard games they have over the first 2 months, this is a massive watch now.
I'd put the cue back in the rackWith how North started the season against an undermanned Dogs and the fixture of hard games they have over the first 2 months, this is a massive watch now.
