Third in six rounds. A staggering 50% of interstate games. ;) Yet those ridiculous myths persist. Do the other Victorian clubs play more interstate games than the Pies excluding those who ask for the honour like the Hawks, Roos and occasionally Melbourne?
And three in the final 18 rounds. Turns out "those ridiculous myths" aren't ridiculous after all. In fact, it turns out they ain't even myths!

Thankyou for your contribution however.

Day to Cameron.

Ah Chee to Houston.

These two matchups could be the most pivotal across the whole field.

Then if we are able to get it we have to funnel everything through those two whenever we can to make their opponents accountable and restrict their ability to create in an attacking sense.

I can recall back in.....maybe 2015? 2016? being pumped up and full of beans against the Pies on a Saturday night at the Gabba....only to be what......8 goals or something ridiculous down after little more than a quarter and we had hardly touched the ball. Christ that sucked.

Cheerfully, I am reminded that today is nothing like then.

We are a fleet of raptors. Woe betide all.

I'd certainly prefer to not give up a 6 goal head start, but other than that.....let's rocknroll :D

Houston is still serving second game of suspension, J Daicos (in his new half back role) has been well limited by a couple of defensive forwards so far this season so the most likely for Ah Chee. Cameron is a defensive ruckman, spends much more time behind the ball we tend to use McStay + Mihocek as our out balls down the line.

I’m thinking they will bring Cox in for this game and try to stretch us in the Ruck. He would also drift forward and try to pinch a goal or two. I would definitely feel more comfortable going into the game with this ruck match up:

McInerney and Fort
v’s
Cox and Cameron

As far as the result goes, you would have to think we would be hyper-motivated and “on” from the outset. I think we will win and probably win handsomely.

Dalions I rate you as the most insightful poster on this blog.

To say we will either win or lose this game is just going next level.

You've nailed it. And predicted the margin to boot.
Just call me Baba Vanga

I'm really happy Collingwood is coming off a belter of a win with everyone now on the bandwagon.

I watched all the footy shows over the weekend thinking that we played in the best game of the round with a soul stirring comeback and some blindingly great footy and all they wanted to talk about was Melbourne , Hawthorn ,Dangerfield and the new guy in the Collingwood midfield.

We barely cracked a mention. Nothing whatsoever on Footy Classified but over 10 minutes on Melbourne ffs.

I suppose the only place to revel in our successes is on here.
This is a good thing on balance, the lack of media scrutiny means our players feel less pressure. And the Melbourne media are such rabid dogs that I'd rather they continue navel gazing.

Gahhh I mucked that up. Too many Darcy's.

Day to *Moore.

Yes I got the wrong Darcy. And I forgot about Houston. Good insights. Cheers!

Heard somewhere that across the latter parts of 2010 and start of 2011 Collingwood played 22 straight games in Melbourne - obviously they earned that by finishing high on the ladder and having home finals, but kind of wild even still.

Also it’s only 2 genuine interstate trips because the obligatory gather round trip to play at a neutral venue does not count.

Thought I heard a commentator say over the weekend that a young Saints player (or was it Bulldogs) had already played on more different grounds than Pendlebury. Anyone else hear it? Gobsmacking if true!

Harvey Thomas, GWS.

Any Melbourne-based player wouldn't hit it. There's a reason the top AFL venues played list is dominated by Suns, Power and GWS players.

(Seb Ross the highest Melbourne-based player, equal 6th. Every other Melbourne based player is equal 12th or later.)

Geez for premiers you lot are sure precious about travel and the vagaries of the fixture.

Try this, you've played Gold Coast twice every year since their inception and they have never made the finals...

Collingwood played Richmind twice every year through their dynasty, then they become Laughable and we play them once last year and this year.

It's a fixture. It's fixed. The fixings aren't all a benefit to us at all.

It’s ****ing easy to work out, if you put 2 seconds of thought in to it.

I was today years old when I learned that Collingwood played none of Richmond, Hawthorn or North Melbourne twice last year.

Oh, wait. They did.

And if you don't understand why I've named those clubs, you don't understand how the fixture works and perhaps you should wait until you come up with something rational and sensible before you come back here.

Run along now.
