he doesn't need to increase his value. he has the runs on the board.
Missed training today
family reasons apparently
With the way the Melbourne football club are headed to total dee-saster and few more instances like the above with kozzie will see Melbourne desperate to get whatever they can

How are we arrogant

He wants out and you guys need draft picks to rebuild
The arrogance was actually from Melbourne football club oligarchy.

Stomped their feet like a petulant child when all of trac , clarry and kozzie wanted out last year , then doubled down thinking the premiership window was still open by trading out this years first and second , which look like p3/4 and 21/22 .

Now all 3 of those players and possibly Salem and Frisch to boot will all look to hightail it out of there as fast as possible meaning Melbourne will lose most of their leverage .

The arrogance of posters stating facts

Hopefully Freo can make finals this year and get some finals experience into the group, then add Kozzy to that

Dees get some picks for a rebuild and we make it a win/win

We have already helped the Dees with their next gen start with Jefferson and Windsor
losing a 23 year old gun at the start of a rebuild is not a win. lol, crazy how your logic works. Getting Pickett is going to cost you an absolute fortune. 2 first rounders won't be suffice, it'd be 3 first rounders.

If we actually step up and make top 4 then I'd pay the 3 anyway

Some draft points back for our ngas

If we finish lower then you simply won't get 3 as it would be the biggest trade of all time for a small forward

I’m quite torn.

I still think Warner makes more sense for us but watching Bolton move through the midfield and up front, makes me think Pickett would slot in very nicely…
Pickett would improve Freo but not as much as people think.
I honestly think why they would give up 2 first round picks for it, because realistically that's what it's going to cost.

Gives us one of the best forwardlines in the comp and fixes our defensive pressure issue.

The issue for Melbourne is
Where those picks fall. If finishes with a top 10 pick or thereabouts Melbourne probably just do the deal. For 2 firsts. If Freo finish top 4 or thereabouts Melbourne will be reluctant. Those picks will be looking at the around 20th best talent in the pool. Hardly worth it.
As a aligh segue, I'd have thought at the end of the year it's heading to a decision on which of Oliver, Trac and Pickett to let go where I'm sure you'd like to keep at least one of them?

if you were keeping one, assuming all had interest in leaving, who would you prefer it to be?

There’s a few factors. It would be good to get Clarrys contract or majority of it off the books. Trac is nearly 30. And on a huge contract. Kozzy is the one with the most upside. But also the one who wants to get to the other side of the country.
As we are now going to be rebuilding Kozzy it the one id keep. But also the one I expect to definitely go this year.

Are you on drugs?

It's tongue in cheek for sure but early days already and watching this Reid fella and he looks like he could be anything. Handballs like Neale and has time on the pill as if he is Pendles.

If anything I would say I would want Kozzie now more than ever above Warner, that's all.

Some posters hey

I just don’t understand why anyone would rather Kozzy over Warner. It seems Warner is going to sign on for a 2 year deal anyway. But he’s a better player than Kozzy.

They're different players in reality. We've got Serong, Young, Brayshaw, Fyfe (for now), O'Driscoll, Johnson, O'Meara, Erasmus (maybe if he comes on) as our primary on-ballers. The emergence of Reid (who will no doubt join the midfield brigade in due course) has meant that positionally I and a lot of others would prefer Kozzie who can play as a genuine forward threat (rather than a rotating goalscoring mid like Chad).
