Sounds like he is definitely on the way out with the way he is speaking.
Port would be better off letting him go this year.

From what NWM is showing at the moment, as good as Butters is, and he is, I don't think you will lose anything. For what it's worth, it's easier to find a good midfielder to replace Butters, than it is to find an attacking, rebounding defender with elite skills.I’ll be upset I just love him but yes that would smooth the burn for sure

I think this one is better.Port did have one not long ago.
Jamara and the Dogs First to Saints, Butters to Dogs, NWM to Port just so that no one is happy
I think they will sit down at some point. News broke recently about them offering what ever it takes to keep Miles Bergman. With Nasiah as a target for Port, I feel Port would want a definitive answer from Butters.Sounds like he is definitely on the way out with the way he is speaking.

How would Geelong satisfy a trade for Butters?
Their first rounder this year will end up being worth around pick 30-35 if they finish top 4. With butters they would be expected to go close to a flag so that’s another pick that ends up in the 20s.
The first rounder would be around 20 (as it normally is) I'm not sure where you get 35 from.
To answer your question Geelong would offer 2 firsts for him and possibly some form of fringe players.

It will be like the Smith trade "value" and Houston situation last year if Butters choose Geelong. The first round this year is predicted to be 30 odd picks. What is currently a “late first” will push out to 30 odd due to how compromised this draft is early before the late picks come forward.
Anyone that isn’t at a minimum finding a top 5 pick ontop of a late first pick won’t be getting a seat at the table one wouldn’t imagine.

I think we'll have plenty of cap, just won't have the picks to get a contracted player inThere's no way Cats have salary cap for Butters just scanning through their list.
It'd be like Boston Celtics having cap space for Nikola Jokic.
I'm not sure who I would put this on tbh.Watch Geelong get him cheap and he turns into a star. This has egg on face for Bulldogs written all over it.
While the Houston deal was crazy, surely Butters is a different kettle of fish? Have a top 5 pick or two top 10s or dont both calling.
Point being I suppose that I can't see him picking Cats because they can't get it done (this year)Depends where he goes.
If he requests a trade to the Cats or Dogs the narrative will be very different for each case.

You would think so..
We gave them, Sav, Evans and Ken. They owe us one.Point being I suppose that I can't see him picking Cats because they can't get it done (this year)
That sounds more like you owe them threeWe gave them, Sav, Evans and Ken. They owe us one.
