Jeremy Cameron elbow on Harris Andrews

Houli missed four weeks for throwing his arm back without looking and knocking out lamb.

Seems like this incident should be similar, was in play but imo far worse. So 4 weeks min. Andrews being in the air and falling limp is just so so dangerous.

Edit; if memory serves Solomon got 6 weeks for his elbow on Ling, that’s probably the most like for like example I can think of.

Solomon was the first one that came to mind for me too. Although, watching it again now, Solomon's probably was a bit worse. I think he got 8 weeks.

Absolute thug act, we all know that they take into account the resultant injury so he probably wont get what he deserves, still 4 weeks though for mine.

It's just pure luck that Harris didn't have his jaw broken otherwise he would have been looking at 6-8 weeks.

Would think 4 weeks is the starting point.

Disappointed in Cameron as didn't need to do that , certainly not in the spirit of the game.
For such a talented player Cameron sure has quite a arsenal of cheap shots in his repertoire.

He does has form so he is obviously a slow learner.

At least a month, not that it does any good for us.

No restorative justice in the system.

In fact the dog prick gets to dine out on goals for three and a half quarters without our best defender out there.

Day at the footy ruined in a microsecond.
Always felt for big suspensions say 4+ weeks, the player should miss 3 weeks then miss the last game the next time he plays the side he offended against. Play that team next in a final, sucked in, whatever, don't do dog acts that get you a month suspension in the first place.

Someone might not actually take their last week because of retirement or delist, but thats hardly worth worrying about, they aren't playing anyway.

Cameron said he’ll just message or call Andrews after the game.

What was stopping him from walking up to him after the game?

Harris had to go up to Cameron. Cameron made no effort.

So true, but they got that wrong!

As for looking away, the only time he wasnt looking at him was just before contact when he closed his eye!

4+ for a really poor effort!

Lol, not the best footage there for Jeremy trying to convince us of his post match statement.

"I just saw the ball coming in and I like to play the ball really hard and it was unfortunate I hit him in the head. Definitely didn't want to hurt him and hurt him like that, I just like to play the ball on its merits and go in nice and hard," he said.

When you read the above statement replace "the ball" with "Harris Andrews' head"

He lead with his elbow. Has there been any player in the history of the game who tried to get the ball with his elbow? That’s the most damning thing really. Leading with the elbow is a bad situation and I am not sure what outcome he expected

Careless, high impact and high contact. 3 weeks down to 2 weeks with early guilty plea.

Lions No.27 gives Cameron a push just as he’s taken off on his right foot. Cameron even has his hand clinched in a fist ready to go the spoil as he is taking off.

However, the push from no.27 means he is out of control and headed to the contest quicker than he expected. So he goes into protection mode and lifts the elbow to brace for contact.

We’re talking about a split second decision. No way was it an intentional act. It was careless and only happened because of the push no.27 gave him.

Lockett on Caven - intentional
Cameron pushed into a contest and going into protection mode - careless

So you ignore what he said and play pretendies that he said something else. The point if that is what exactly? Other than to pretend it reinforces your fantasy.

He probably assumed Harris was in hospital. I’d say he had no idea Harris made a recovery and watched the game from the bench.

You guys carrying on like it was premeditated. You should be pointing the finger at no.27 and telling him not to push opposition fwds into his team mates in future.

Darcy Gardiner to get weeks then?

Clearly not as bad as Lockett on Caven, but it's a pretty average act. Good luck to them if they go with the I raised & lead with my elbow to brace for impact, but I don't like their chances. I was pushed, was off balance & tucked my elbow in & braced for impact might work, but in that instance Harris wouldn't have had his face smashed & been knocked out.

The elbow is clearly cocked....so yeah..... the bracing for contact argument is bullshit
