Jeremy Cameron elbow on Harris Andrews

This one got 6 and was probably worse, but the tribunal dosen't have to accept any previous incidents as precedent.

And for people demanding red cards be brought it, go look at some soccer. Every single marking contest half the players will pretend they got whacked in the head to get other teams' players sent off.

3-4 weeks.

Probably. If Membrey got 2 for a very similar incident, then this will be that with a little more for the extra severity.

Will go to the Tribunual, but 3 or 4 seems likely.

It was just as brutal. Extremely lucky for Membrey that he hit a bloke with Grimes' constitution.

That's why I hate the result being such a big factor.

Same hit should get the same penalty, regardless of the outcome to the victim.

Didn't see much difference to this one that only earned Membrey two weeks.

If anything, Cameron was less culpable as he was looking away and it was sheer bad luck that he caught Andrews on the point of the chin and KO'd him. Reckless rather than intentional.

Andrews being something of a media favourite seems to have bestowed the Cameron incident with a touch of hysteria.

So true, but they got that wrong!

As for looking away, the only time he wasnt looking at him was just before contact when he closed his eye!

4+ for a really poor effort!

I would like to see his team chastise him too. He’s got form in this area.
Once his suspension is up, play him in the magoos for a couple of weeks too. Set an example.

I have an idea on how suspensions should be dealt out, why should the upcoming teams be rewarded for a players indiscretion and not the team the player committed the act against......so here goes.

Suspension as normal and then +1 which is for when said player comes up against said club again.

ie: Cameron misses the next 6 games and then also misses the next time GWS play Brisbane.

Just suspend him for the next X times he plays that team.

So a 3 week suspension would be the next 3 Brisbane games, which could take 3 years to expire.

As an added bonus, consider how that would play out come contract renewal time. "We were going to pay you 800k/year, but given we know you're not playing 2 games we'll give you 750".

What’s different between this and Jonas on Gaff a few years ago? Reckon we are looking at the same penalty

Bit more time between when the ball was in play and the impact, and less happening around it. Perhaps enough to take it from 'dumb reaction' (Cameron) to 'considered act' (Jonas).

It'd be the same on the table, but the tribunal will probably see a difference.

At least a month, not that it does any good for us.

No restorative justice in the system.

In fact the dog prick gets to dine out on goals for three and a half quarters without our best defender out there.

Day at the footy ruined in a microsecond.
Yep
Cos that'snever happened before. How the hell was it allowed this time. The rules could have been easily rewritten on the spot

4 weeks would be the starting point. Wouldn't be shocked if it was as many as 6. It really comes down to how much time the tribunal think he had to make his decision or in other words how intentional the act actually was.

As soon as you jump into the air and get someone with an elbow in the head that's pretty much 4 weeks automatically. The only thing that could possibly reduce it is if you collected the ball at the same time.
