You weren't really close to top four. You make the finals and fold. Don't act like this is a Hawthorn 2008 premiers to 2009 no finals scenario...

Hampson has been good sure, but is he going to be part of the next Tiger rise into contention for a flag? I doubt it. How's this - you have no ruckman that can help you be a flag contender.
 
Don't know why Saints would go after Jack - he'd be worth a pretty penny, a first rounder + some, and they've already heavily invested in KPP's (pick 1 on McCartin, 1st rounder on Carlisle) while having scored some value players (Longer & Bruce for pick 25 & 41, Membrey for nothing, Goddard for pick 21). Not sure another KF is what they need, no matter how good Riewoldt is. Better served by another midfielder I'd think. IF there was any truth to this thread I wonder if wires were crossed and it was actually a Richmond midfielder...

We were one bad kick in by houli against your mob from being in the top 4 last season, and in 2013 we were a half game (sydney had a draw) from the top 4.

But yeah, we werent close to top 4.

lol dont put words in my mouth. in no way did I compare our 15/16 season to Hawks 08/09...choking in the finals doesn't take away teh fact that we were a game away from top 4 last year.
 
Jeez the Riewoldt name will never leave St Kilda hahaha. Also looks like Jack Riewoldt does indeed need a new home because he is wasting his talent with a talentless side like Richmond. My prediction is Richmond won't make the finals for another 8-10 years. Their recruiting staff is absolutely horrendous.

Weve had plenty of happy trades with Hawthorn, Geelong, Collingwood and the Eagles under Bains yet suddenly he is difficult because Dildoro is a massive whinger who refused for almost 2 weeks to include another team in the trade process.

If we wanted Riewoldt it would happen admirably but as others have said he does not fit our profile at the moment so its unlikely.

Richmond decided what they thought Yarran was worth (late first, early 2nd), Carlton yammered on about wanting our 1st pick (was 12, became 15), we did a deal early on that got us pick 19, Carlton said it wasn't good enough (their fans insisted we'd need to sweeten the deal from 'just' our first for such a star)...Then as the deadline approached they blinked and accepted what we were offering all along. Since then (according to anyone Carlton related) Yarran is a complete dud, and we got massively ripped of.

So clearly Richmond has no idea what players are worth.

Our forward line is set. We need A grade mids and a key back depending upon Hugh Goddard's injury. Jack doesn't fit.
