It's pretty amazing that the Vic Libs managed a lose lose for both Deeming and Pesutto.
Kind of incredible and absolutely of type.
Deeming still gone, and the nutters chuffed but clearly weakened. An ascendent Pessuto who took a somewhat principled stance against the cranks, suddenly dumped.
A former boofhead cop, in charge of the opposition. His broght ideas are new crime scare, cut taxes and services.
I've never seen a state or federal party in Australia this inept. This is US Democrat levels of complete political bumbling and out of touch tomfoolery.

Jacinta Allen demonstrating yet again what an insipid leader she is. When asked whether she endorsed the VIC ALP social media post about Dutton’s wife she declined to comment. Albo to his credit ordered the post to be deleted.

Even if it's literally just been shown to them.
Sometimes they even use the "Well all I have seen is what you've shown me, and not the context around it so I can't comment".
It's happened for so long and so often, I don't know if it's even mentioned anymore when the Coalition do it.
And you'd be first in line to defend them when they do.

The tweet came after the Coalition raised in Question Time yesterday allegations that a man released from immigration detention following a major High Court ruling had stalked and sexually assaulted a woman.
Police have since retracted charges against the man.

It’s been deleted now but it was a photo of Dutton and his wife and the caption read “Justifying dating your new partner to your friend’s who don’t like him” with Sutton’s wife saying. “He is not a monster”.
And owning a position on it is what I was on about. Allen did the same with the CFMEU expose and the synagogue fire bombing. Waited days before saying anything like she needs her spin doctors to write the script.

Because there is no response they can give that is ever accepted or 'right'. It is always the wrong response.
So they should just be honest, rather than trying to placate.

The simple thing she could have said is that the families of MP’s are off limits.
It doesn’t faze me. What fazed me is that Jacinta Allen could not condemn the synagogue fire bombing when it happened (not days later), and she could not say the families of MP’s are off limits. That is poor leadership. She is more concerned about her personal popularity.
And let’s not lose sight of the fact it was the Victorian branch of the ALP that posted the piece. Allan’s conspicuous silence implies she was complicit ! I’m sure she wasn’t but…

I think the ALP’s social media presence is generally pretty ****ing abysmal (Crikey did a rundown of some of their awful “who is this for?” posting of the last year).
I don’t think this post is anything close to brilliant but I don’t see how this is off limits. She went public making comment about her husband, a political figure. It can therefore be engaged with by opponents. What’s with the preciousness here?
I take zero offence to it. I just find it laughable.
Considering the issues we are facing at present, the best they can dig up is
“we all know that one couple (Eyeroll)”.
