They haven't specified the actual size they've said "like abortion clinic safe zones" which are 150m so could go either wayTreasury Gardens and the front of Parliament are fine. They will probably regret somehow not including them
Any protest actionAlso is the exclusion zone any protest or just protests that are directed at the specific place of worship?
There's a Synagogue a few doors down on Albert Street.Parliament House doesn’t appear in the exclusion zones on that post you put up.
But FRV No1 station is, that’s gold!!!
They could but they won't. Arresting nurses would be a vote killer. They could use this legislation to stop striking workers March.
Say nurses wanted to gather on the steps of parliament house to call for more funding for public hospitals, because visibility and putting pressure on politicians goes hand in hand.
This legislation could be used to stop that action.
It amazes me how happily ignorant people are about what protesting is about and why governments are happily legislating against it.
How much people think it won't impact them in the future.
Yes this always the attitudeThere's a Synagogue a few doors down on Albert Street.
They could but they won't. Arresting nurses would be a vote killer.
You know what also stops arrests. Showing up in large numbers. Larger protests tend to lead to the outcomes.
Unusual for the treasurer to come from the upper house
Ben carrol says hiAt least it wasn't Danny Pearson, who I don't really rate.
If it is, then this quote does not make that completely clear:Isn't that what I'm arguing?
I couldn't care less about projects running over budget as long as you get what your supposed to out of it.
John Lenders under Brumby last timeUnusual for the treasurer to come from the upper house
Yeah, they should just be millionaire political lobbyists. That's much more effective.Maybe it's time activists figure out other means of getting thier message across and convincing people thier cause is worthwhile.
I was aware of that one but it is still unusualJohn Lenders under Brumby last time
She’s quit as well? Finally Jacinta made a correct decision!

Has she given IBAC its funding and powers.back so it can finally investigate the corruption endemic in the Victorian government? Finally Jacinta made a correct decision!
Plenty of people cheering on the erosion of democratic rights, the blindly cheering them on because they equate them with something that’s happening now that they dont care about, their tune will change when they are on the receiving end of something crap. The new "social cohesion" anti protest laws are pretty fashy
Yeah very much thisPlenty of people cheering on the erosion of democratic rights, the blindly cheering them on because they equate them with something that’s happening now that they dont care about, their tune will change when they are on the receiving end of something crap.
It’s funny, so many times I’ve seen the dictator Dan crowd, or the crowd calling the Labor party communists, call for the overthrow of elected governments, its like they dont even realise they are advocating for authoritarian policies.Yeah very much this
The funny part is the people who called Dan a dictator are strangely quiet on this one
It's that whole will they use it against me thing. It’s funny, so many times I’ve seen the dictator Dan crowd, or the crowd calling the Labor party communists, call for the overthrow of elected governments, its like they dont even realise they are advocating for authoritarian policies.
We are a nation that wants to be ruled, and even moreso as a state.Crazy how many rolled over during covid and thought they wouldn't abuse their power once we were back to normal.
Carroll has more charisma but is too arrogant to be Premier. Werribee is not safe not sure where your getting that information from, Labor's lead in that seat has eroded substantially since 2014. It's the 1 area of Melbourne IMO they will cop a battering due to the lack of progress with infrastructure and amenities. Alot of the electorates out West I think are definitely in play by the next election. The media will make a big deal out of the upcoming by-elections but Prahran is safe Green and Werribee is safe Labor.
It's almost two years until the next Vic elections. I expect Jacinta Allen will be moved on before that. She has the charisma of a plank of wood and baggage from record debt levels.
