I also don’t think Cornes gets enough recognition as a player, either. Was a pretty unique player for a fair while as a tagger who got plenty of the footy himself.

Scathing and a bit unusual from a Fairfax journo (or at least one who's name isn't Caroline Wilson),
Tim Kelly will go down in AFL history as a poster child for disastrous list management decisions.

Everyone's a genius with hindsight. Granted I didn't expect him to be performing at Geelong tier levels, but I was hoping for a lot more than what he's shown so far. Plus, we were like two years removed from a Premiership when we got him..the club wanted to stay in the hunt, he wanted to come home and nominated us so we got him. No one would've expected us to fall off the cliff like we have in 2019 or whenever it was when the deal got done.

Given the respective ladder positions over that period, is it any surprise we haven't had top 10 picks? Further, it was ultimately picks 14 (became 16) and 18 so even had we not traded for Kelly the above chart would have been identical.
