This.

Hawthorn, Geelong and Richmond premiership stars seem to be a majority of the next gen of footy media, coaches and other industry roles. Even a few from the Brisbane threepeat.

Far from media but gotta love Xavier Ellis rubbing it in

That’s great work from X. The thing is - they may not be high end draft picks but they ARE high end talent. It’s just we were able to see it when so many other clubs couldn’t and had faith it our ability to bring it out of those players. Like Mass said “I just needed someone to give me a chance”

IMO Newc, Mass and Dear are the high end talented that slipped through the cracks for various reasons. Dear was always going to be Hawk if we wanted him but even in here most of us weren't sure if he was worthy of a list spot. If not for the coviid interrupted seasons Newc easily gets drafted (likely to 15). Mass we were into in the year he entered the PSD but we all know how the Bummers undervalued him.

Long story short the hawks along with teams like the Cats and Swines always seem to have a great ability in eeking out diamonds in the rough better than other clubs for various reasons.

Buckley on the Hawks vs Giants game. *

Probably a good strategy to ignore pretty much every media show, except for Buckley's summary of the weekend's games. Offers a lot to the game the way he talks about it in such a positive, enthusiastic way.

Buckley and Bartel are the best. Lloyd has been good too. As much as that pains me to say he seems quite likeable to me.

Thanks for sharing, that was a good listen.

I really liked Buckley’s comment about momentum shifts in games and ‘needing to win the match more than once’, and how the Hawks are able to adapt and find a way to win.

Sam used the word ‘maturity’ several times in his presser which I think is referring to the same point Buckley was making.

Buckley singles out Finn with the way he switched roles during periods of game. As an ex coach he knows what a great lever/option to have up your sleeve depending on the ebbs and flows in a game! Finn is becoming an important player for us.

Damo saying in regards to us targeting players “it will come to bite them”

What a muppet
Other clubs will only now target your players because you spoke to an out of contract free agent.

Grow up, Damo.
