I don't think the players need extra money to help them survive or stay anywhere interstate....whether its Sydney , Brissy or wherever.
..even if they are "only" on $100,000+ that is still more than the average you and I's of the world earn in a year. They should be able to cover rent costs etc, particularly if they are sharing a house with others as they often do.
I would much rather see any money from the AFL go into facilities and providing experienced staff as required.......and to build a rock solid environment around the players.
That way we can avoid (hopefully) any backlash from Eddie and his likeminded cronies down here, about retention allowances etc.
