Geelongs draft was rubbish…Geelong just drafted a no one…. and odds on they will turn into a 200 game champ….

It seems the youtube experts and the media scribes have all fall into … Geelong doing a Geelong again..

So according to the WC board we offered our FF to them (and presumably a number of clubs with picks prior) to try secure Shanahan. Ess also offered a FF and were also knocked back.

Seems like the reasons FF are going like hotcakes is because the entire first round is just academy kids… that it will be close to the worst we have ever seen it.

Be interesting to see what the AFL does if the first 6-7 picks are all academy bids… how much longer can we have this Rort completing destroying the drafts integrity??

Next year is a joke. And Brisbane just continue to be the beneficiary of this. After winning a flag. Equalisation?

Big year ahead for Knevitt. He needs to establish himself or at least go to another level such that the club can foresee a future or else he’s on borrowed time. Lack of intensity is his major issue at senior level. Maybe it’s just a confidence issue? Regardless he needs to overcome it.

Hopefully we see some continuity in Conway’s season. The fact we didn’t draft a ready to go ruck suggests the club think his woes this season can be overcome quickly.

I’m confident that we will see Clark break out in ‘25. I’m not saying he’ll be a star but he will be a lock in our 22.

Really looking forward to seeing Edwards too next year. Think he’s got a lot of potential. Hopefully he has a massive pre season.

Its because they saw pick 63, Lawson Humphries and laughed last year until they watched him cutting teams up by seasons end.

Is he quick and mobile?? I feel like these 200+cm talls are the future of AFL football, and geelong is well and truly moving with the times by nabbing tall mobile quick and athletic 200+cm big men… AFL in 15-20 years will look like a basketball court size wise more than AFL.

Hopefully players like edwards mollier neale SDK Conway are the ways forward with this trend… it’s pretty obvious and deliberate we are drafting taller key position in players as well with aiming for these guys.

If you are going to play the 190-195cm role these days, you need to be more the power profile such as curnow or Jed walters.

Has anyone ever gotten so many no1 draft picks while finishing top four?? I feel like we have to venture back to the old zoning days to replicate such a thing

For the love of god what pissesme off is there is still a “10” discount?? Why should there be any discount?? Having access itself is the privilege. There doesn’t need to be a discount applied to getting a top 5 draft pick for 10 packets of chips of picks
