The day I take heed in anything Jon Ralph says is the day I also take heed in anything written form mainstream media.
Serious question, all I read on here and other forums “I wouldn’t trust so and so as he knows nothing” has there been any reporters that have usually been spot on and had a good rep

Isn't he their football director, bloody incompetent

Seems to be a bloke who just expects that being a champion footballer and having stacks of profile as a result means that you can speak with impunity and always just be 'one of the boys'.

Massively out of his depth (and entirely oblivious to it) regarding some of the most important aspects of the role of a football director, it would seem.

Carlton had a huge amount of cap space to front load his deal and ward club's off..We don't have that much.

We however have enough to walk him into the ND on 650k and I doubt anyone uses a R1 on him so we could take him with our last R1.

In a trade I expect the best we offer is our latest R1 plus one of our SA kids (kennerley Jarvis tarca close etc) and for that they are better off taking the compo. Hopefully they are sensible.

Carlton ironically targeting GWS players..cause 900 for williams puts them front and centre for player leakage ... not sure who but they have too many talls... they best hope no one comes hard at TDek

The fact that the majority of journalists are derided by the general public says more about the general public's ridiculously over-cynical and idiotic reflexive distrust of professional journalists than it does about the journalists themselves.

That take won't be popular btw but it's the truth. BigFooty is almost always wrong when it comes to the media.

They have stacks of cash with Simpson and Kreuzer going if they lose DEK it wowon't due to money imo.

Ricciuto really is all class with conducting these matters around player movement with discretion and respect, isn't he?

He is on the radio over here shooting his mouth off all the time. Too much respect for the player means they tolerate it but he's a total liability for them.

To be fair, the standard of journalism globally has dropped dramatically over the past 20 years. Budget cuts, low wages, advertising models and the 24/7 newscycle have a lot to answer for.

Of course, you're spot on though - even with lower standards, journalists are still usually adept at sorting wheat from the chaff in terms of crediblity.

People on this board are seriously underrating Brad Crouch, the guy averaged 30.3 possessions last year in 22 matches and won their bnf. He is an inside beast and i for one would be happy to have him especially if we can send Danger forward more. Yes he has had injuries but he has played 95 games in 6 years which isnt terrible.

Na they just tell people what they want to hear. Half of them make up stories to get clicks.

If we're not forced to trade then I'm all for it. If we use a first round pick then no.

There is always plenty of cash when they do it.. lets just wait a year or two then we will see...

I would assume they have been fromtloading so they should be ok.

You don’t say no to roo. Usually to the question of are you leaving the crows at the end of the year. The answer is always yes lol.

But the question is where will our round ones end up, could be in the 20's, id happily trade a pick in the 20's for him given the compromised draft pool especially this year with talent a real unknown due to Corona.

It won't be in the 20's and who cares if it is. It's irrelevant, as all that means is players we couldn't take anyway were bid on. Our picks still remain the same.

Midfielders like Crouch are a dime a dozen. We have mids who can't even get a game because we keep bringing in rejects from other clubs ... they'll only leave.

What we need to be focsuing on more than Crouch is a tall forward, a ruckman and some dash from defense. Not one-paced mids with poor footskills.

Unlikely. Last time i saw a phantom they predicted only 3 in the first 10 might be academy picks. It won’t be as high as some are predicting.
