Notice :

Do not post names of players speculated to be involved in the sexual assault claims.

There has been a very clear suppression order put on anyone naming or speculating on players involved.

This is a site wide rule that must be followed.

The rule is insufficient intent to keep it in not intent to get it out.

On that distinction it's a free kick.

On the second point, I completely agree, if an opposition player lets it go out they should concede the free according to the law.
That’s why it really shits me when Kelli Underwood continually refers to a player being pinged for “deliberate’.
Massive difference between that and insufficient intent. First job as commentator, know the rules.

Dude, if you are having a shot at goal and you hit the behind post. You get a free kick against you for deliberate out of bounds, also a skill error.

Same thing.
I always thought hitting the point post was kicking it out on the full rather than insufficient intent to keep it in?

I'm fine with that, with out on the full there is no intent involved. The ball either goes over or it doesn't. Nice and simple.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, this pedantic stuff is just interesting haha.

I think it's funny that the Ben McGlynn touched rule is invoked so readily. If the kicker says it was touched, spend 2 milliseconds checking, but don't actually find any evidence.

There's a difference in intent between a defender hitting the behind post and a forward.

Why during a Jim Stynes game are they playing an American song? It's called Simple Gifts. Later it was rewritten with different lyrics by an Englishman and the title changed to Lord of the Dance. Just because an Irishman once danced to it. Surely there are more Irish tunes.

moginie just realised this answers your question.

Thank you. I've never liked the song, but it's not for me.

I think Joyce was overlooked, due to politics behind the scenes? I think he may have rubbed some players and board members up the wrong way? Although being a teenager myself at the time, I can’t be too certain.

Appointing Knights was really baffling. His time at Brisbane was forgettable, admittedly being the interim coach, he didn’t have much hope. In the year he was appointed Coach, he was sacked from his position as head coach from Devenport in the TFL. In his 2/3 year tenure of Devenport, he took them from the top of the ladder to the bottom. After he was sacked, Devenport quickly rose back up the ladder. So I have a feeling it was more favourite son/best available.

Happy to do it for peanuts I’d say
