I think it was 7 Hawthorn goals which were umpire assisted. Cheating campaigners.

Yep, that"s about right. At one point in the second half I had to go look in the mirror to see if I was wearing a baby pink jacket and shoestring white tie and check see if the other half was wearing shoulder pads and leg warmers. I seriously thought it was the 80s again. What a joke.

God I would be so surprised if Butters was to leave. I have never seen someone so invested and passionate about the club, to then just leave. Last night was just another example of this.

What really pissed me off about Rozee’s post match comments was what he said in regards to what he wants for the season.

He wants to get as many wins as they can for KEN.

There was no mention of falling short in a prelim and wanting to go further.

No mentioned of believing they’re good enough to contend for the premiership.

No mention of doing it for the fans.

It was purely, let’s just see how many we can get for Ken.

Found that comment in particular incredibly disrespectful to the fans and shows where there mindset is as players.

Only get up for games that Ken is under pressure or a team they genuinely dislike (Hawthorn).

Congratulations on beating both Hawthorn and the umpires who were deplorable all game - the total free kick count tells the story.
That first half was the best footy I’ve seen played this year. It was a smashing with Port’s scintillating ball movement and run complimented by crushing pressure.
Your team confuses me and I can only imagine how frustrated you Port fans must feel because if you dish that up every week, you are Top 2/Top 4 bound.

No but something like, we respect Ken as a coach, not we love home so much from your captain to top it of.
Ken was under pressure before this game and it's typical of past games where he's been under the pump, the team wins and the love for Kenny frenzy begins. Just like a script.

The Hawks are a despicable club. There should never be a time where you might consider them even remotely likeable. Their bandwagon entitled fans are also worst in league.

Agreed. It is so satisfying to see them taken down a peg and ram their entitled arrogance and cry baby petulance where the monkey shoved the nuts. Top marks to whoever had the idea of starting SPP on Sicely. Worked a treat. Early niggle put Sicely off his game and the defence fell over like a pack of cards. Got into Watson's head too and he was continually trying to scuffle and was rendered ineffectual. And better still, it could well be a double up on Monday when they cop Geelong who harbour a similar hatred for them that goes back decades. Nothing like seeing a showboater get their comeuppance.

I'm not sure it was one of our classic take the foot of the gas performances anymore, I think they were so primed for the first half, warm night, Hawks were gonna respond at some point etc.
Take out the Hawthorn goals from frees and Lord, MG & Drew kick simple set shots it's probably a 50 point win, you'd have been nuts to tip that with confidence before the game let alone a win at all.

Yea agree - solid take. Maintaining that level for four quarters and expecting the hawks not to lift at all, is a bit ridiculous.

Those missed set shots really hurt too.

On a brighter note, JHF, Butters, Aliir, Burgoyne, Rioli, Georgiades, SPP, and Rozee had good games, it makes such a difference when the all fire together.

Also it looks likes if Sinn, Cochrane, Richards, Moraes and Lord can keep developing under Josh Carr

Not sustainable unfortunately as our players are unfit and cannot run out games. Also our slow game is terrible and that something that needs working on urgently.

I liked Lord’s first three quarters, despite the errant goal kicking in the third. The handball to Mead was sublime. But where was he in the last quarter? Seemed to be benched for most of it.

Josh Sinn, what is going on there? It's probably just me but this seems like the third version of him in 3 years. There was mullet-boy a few years back, then Freddie Mercury last year and now, idk just some young dude. It's like we've had 3 different players in 3 years.

This version is coming along slowly but surely. Getting games into his fragile body. I don’t expect we’ll see the “real” Josh Sinn until about game 40.
