Does the club have your mobile number? They don't have mine, but they have my wife's so they sent an SMS to my wife.

They do. But you wouldn't believe it. They sent me a text reminding me to sign up for Priority Group 2. But i never got a Priority Group 1 reminder sent on my Phone.

That's strange. They definitely sent an SMS to my wife reminder her to register for priority 1 tickets and we only upgraded to gold membership this year.

I have a question, I am thinking of becoming an AFL member next year... if I am a Silver AFL Member with Hawks support, what chance would I have getting a GF ticket?

Do I have to register in a ballot?

Or can I purchase a ticket when they become available 4 sale on Monday or Tuesday?

Cheers :thumbsu:

None. You have no chance.

I've been a silver member since the start of 2005 and have only been to 2005 and 2006 grand finals. No coincidence that it's 2 interstate teams. That's the only chance you have of going to a GF.

I register with the hawks ballot (priority 3) and pray

No chance in the AFL reserve if a Victorian team is playing. Full members take them all.
If Hawks playing you would be priority 3 in the Hawks ballot.
Some people get silver AFL membership and a gold reserved seat with Hawks (currently a wait list). HFC charge you the difference between a standard membership and gold membership. This way you get a GF ticket if the Hawks are in it and all the other AFL member benefits. Unfortunately the wait list for full afl membership has blown right out to something like 15 years.

As an AFL Silver with Hawks club support, you'd register in the ballot and have little chance through the club allocation.

If we play the Swans this year, from past experience, AFL silver members will get access to standing room

if we play the Pies this year, forget it.

AFL full members take up the allocation if it's two vic teams playing.

Silver members get an opportunity if there's at least one non-vic team in there

It's hard to say how long the time for the wait list is now.

It ballooned in 2003 with Collingwood members signing up once they worked out how hard it was to get GF tickets

List is about 22000 people and around 1000 full members drop off every year, but most silver members seem to drop off before they get full membership

It's at least 10 years I'd say, but could potentially be 25 years.

I know about 10 AFL full members and none of us are going to let the membership go as long as we live

Your friend is lying.

As mightyhawks said...I know a pies fan who got AFL membership in 2003 and got full membership in 4 years. I got it at the end of 2004 and am still 2227 off full membership

that's another 3 year wait I reckon

Does anyone know if I just rock up on Saturday before the game whether I can just buy standing room tickets and how much they are?

Up till Lunch yesterday they had only sold around 51,000 tickets to Hawks vs Crows. Very dissapointing.

The below prices are for Public Reserve ONLY
