7000 Euro fine for doing a Nazi salute in Germany (although I'm not sure how strictly it's enforced)
The Hitlergruss is prosecuted at times, but there usually has to be more to it than just the action, often it's in clear connection with wearing the paraphernalia, using it in combination with a slur, that sort of thing.
Various exceptions (educational purposes, artistic contexts) and fundamentally, there has to be someone who witnesses it and chooses to prosecute (won't always be the case in a village in East Germany where everybody knows everybody, e.g.)
In. German context, I don't think Musk would have anything to fear, because he used a gesture that could be interpreted that way, but he would be able to plausibly argue that it just looked a little clumsy but he was saying at the time that he loved the crowd or whatever - it wouldn't clear the intentionality hurdle.
(Am not a lawyer, just lives in Germany.for around 10 years and this has been my understanding of it.)

****, he's a loathsome, tiresome piece of shit.
These trivial cases (stolen gaming valour of all things ffs, the lost bet with Sam.Harris and the way that played out) reveal everything you need to know about his character, and because he is such an attention seeker, it is almost impossible to avoid being confronted with his edgelord antics

Well that was weird....

TBH when i was in Germany a few years ago i was looking to cross the road at a zebra crossing and a car stopped to let me cross. I gave them hand up wave/thanks, and i may have accidently got my arm a little straight and at about 45 degrees. thought to myself, "i probably shouldn't do that here"

"I only did the nazi salute once but I think I got away with it"

He was a frequent flyer on the Lolita express as well as a confirmed Nazi.
Lowest scum on the face of the earth!
Send him to colonise mars with a few aryans named sigmund!👍

he was telling everyone he loved them with all of his heart.
The most in denial stuff I have ever seen on here.

You know, I have used the "love you with all my heart gesture" hundreds of times in my life, as have my friends. Its a simple tap or double tap on the chest, then a gentle point in the direction of the person you're talking to, with a pointed finger or two gesture, about a forearms length at best.

Not once have I ever seen someone extend their arm all the way out, and with force/power, holding their hand flat, and pointing upwards.

Seriously guys, cut the BS denial. You know exactly what he intended.

If challenged he’d go to water with all sorts of ‘they made me do it’ bullshit and deflection like his heros at Nuremberg.

Jesus, Twitter is a dumpster fire. I haven't been there in a while but it is night and day, who they **** would want to be on there these days?

Top post of my 'for you' was of some dickhead examining the side profile of Baron Trump and heavily implying he is a jew, with a ton of excited replies just openly hating on Jews in the most cartoonish, predictable ways.

Then I was treated to a post of democratic figureheads doing a Hitler salute. Except, for obvious reasons, they were all just still images. Like an awkward movement or wave to a crowd, rather than a full on hands on heart thrust into the air. I perused the comments to see if anyone else made this glaring observation, but was instead faced with a bunch of people calling democrats the real Nazis, and how Hitler was a socialist all along.

Then I finally saw an interesting video, actual light entertainment. I wanted to view the engagements, but its all just a bunch of checkmark bots posting unrelated videos trying to farm engagement.

You really need to have either some seriously low IQ, or some superhero level cognitive dissonance, to still think this man hasn't just inherited a fortune and then bumbled his way into becoming the richest man alive. I guess statistically someone has to.

Not a nazi salute guys, just an awkward "My heart goes out to you" gesture from an autistic man, according to historian Aaron Astor:

Historian Aaron Astor also rebuffed accusations of Musk’s Nazi emulation.

“I have criticised Elon Musk many times for letting neo-Nazis pollute this platform,” he wrote on X, adding: “But this gesture is not a Nazi salute.”

“This is a socially awkward autistic man’s wave to the crowd where he says ‘my heart goes out to you.’”
