It is Stevie J talking Dylan Stephens on MMM today. 1:11:50 in. Take that for what it's worth.

'He will be representing the Kangaroos in 2024'

So what made him worth a top five pick originally.
Phenomenal athletic base and was playing really well both inside and out as a midfielder in his draft year. Around this time Josh Kelly was dominating the competition so I think a lot of clubs were looking for those 'dynamic' hybrid midfielders.

He could be a really cheap pick up for someone. Obviously not happy where he is.
Pies showed interest last year. Looked much improved towards the end of last season but has dropped the ball again, and that's in a struggling team. Don't understand what his issues are.

Is Sydney offering him a contract at the moment?
apparently in talks. I wouldn't be suprised if he holds off until the end of the season given his form. I would if I were him, he wouldn't be commanding a big contract or decent money at the moment but if he can manage to string a block of solid games together especially on the defensive side then he will get a decent pay rise.

It was reported back in March we were already under discussions

Given his form has dropped this is probably where things slow down (probably arguing has salary) but I can't see him leaving.

I recall reading the Swans were looking for a long contract and Stephens was keen on staying as well

Sounds like it will get done.

He wants more money but will need to earn it over the last half of the year.

Stephens didn't play well leading up to being omitted from the senior squad but he's also suffering from having his main competition for a wing spot be in really good form - Gulden, Campbell, and McInerney all playing well the past 6 or so weeks.

I think he has a future at the Swans if he chooses to stay, but needs to work on better ball usage and decision making especially under pressure.

Not a smartarse question , but why is your sudden interest on here eth
I've always been more around this side than VAFA.

As far as Stephens goes, he's a quick player with good skills that I see adding value to us.
