Dosen't this bloke get a lot of things wrong? I remember last year when he had "exclusive footage" of Stringer meeting Geelong players at a cafe with the video being so bad that you couldn't see anything lols

Why would GWS wait until next year to use a high draft pick? They will want this years so they can get try and replace him in this draft. Rightly so.

Because this way they'll have 2 x 1sts this year, and 2 x 1sts next year (a likely top 5 pick in a year they win the flag, maybe even pick 1, that comes into play before Academy selections).

They get to keep loading up while in the window, either trading those picks out for experience, or getting in more good kids, or both.

In your imagination. The reality is most free agents dont move.

Some do. Better to trade him now before leaves next year. Unless you think the AFL will look after you on the compo, which is always a chance.

Conversely apart from a word in Bontempelli's ear maybe when he holidays with our guys, and possibly Daniel, we wouldn't covet any of yours.

Yeah, Sam Reid is much better than Jack Macrae lol... This thread isn't about Bulldog players though, it's about Dylan Shiel. Stay on topic.

You start by claiming this thread is unanimous bar one person, obviously not even close to being true. Why lie about something like that?

You then attempt to instruct me on what I can post.

You ignore the obvious fact this thread isn't about "gws players" but is about Dylan Shiel.

So all in all a bit better than your usual posting quality I'd say.

Should be Shiel and Setterfield for pick 1, with picks 7, 12 and a third or fourth rounder for pick 1 to Adelaide. Can't see Hawthorn getting him with their draft position.GWS would be crazy to negotiate with Hawthorn over Carlton

I guess GWS would prefer to deal with Carlton, who just have more currency to trade.

If it's Shiel & Setterfield pick 1 is going to be involved

Pick 1 is involved in us drafting Walsh.

GWS can have our 1st next year (again, a likely top 5 pick, and maybe even 1 again) plus a late 1st this year.

At this stage probably Sydneys 1st rounder (we'd look to trade out 2 x 2nds for their 1st so they have more points for Blakey).

GWS don't decide this....
Who does? Hawthorn? Shiel can nominate Hawthorn if he likes, but GWS can just hold him to his contract and sort it out next year. Shaw, Deledio, Griffen and other potential retirees will loosen up the cap, so trading Shiel this year while they're still in the premiership window has to be of benefit to them. They're not just going to give him away to a club who offers them less just because he wants to go there.

Why would GWS even agree to trade Shiel at all? They'd hang on to him for another year rather than take the old bigfooty multi-pick package.

The only thing that even tempts them to the trade table is pick 1.

Salary cap squeeze is the strong mail.

And we are basically offering them Pick 1. Or at least a top 5 pick. Along with the Suns, Carlton would be close to Spoon favorites next year. Can anyone honestly see us crawling out of the bottom 5 next year?

Plus we're throwing in an extra 1st round pick in this years draft.

This is all very off topic Mr. No 1.

I suggest you keep the discussion to Dylan Shiel's impending move.
