After a tough/contested first 1/4 the Hoers played some great football to record an impressive win. Big Billy had a day out kicking 13 in a special performance up forward.

Big challenge next week when we head to WB who gave us an absolute belting last year on their home deck.

Chump.

Felt for the House today. They were the better side for the first quarter but then it was one way traffic.

Hopefully they can finish well and get the wins they need to stay up.

As for us, we face a big challenge next week in WB.

The house were certainly very good for the first 10 minutes, even managed to put the first couple on the board. But when you have to pull 3 blokes out of the twos at HT (who only had 17 to start with) it made for an impossible task.

I'm certainly not taking any credit away from OI, once the foot was put on the gas they delivered in spades.

Also on a side note, great to catch up with a few OI people yesterday post the 2's game. Very hospitable and a great day for a cold beer and to discuss all things VAFA.

Very tough for the House. We have been in that situation before and it's not a lot of fun. But the House will bounce back. There's great spirit there and good luck to all at the club.

Just one point of clarification if I may God Yeah, we are Ivanhoe and definitely not Old Ivanhoe (OI)😊

Apologies for that, years of playing away games at Pine Lodge have the OI ingrained in my mind.

In early this week.......... and some cracking games of footy to consider.

Brunswick v MHSOB - well if the Unicorns want any chance of playing finals it comes down (largely) to this. But with Brunswick finding some form and still eyeing off a top 2 finish, I think they will have too much in the tank at home and get the points over a Unicorns team that is missing a couple too many quality players to mix it with the top end of the fixture.

Yarra v BT - both were well in it last week against more fancied opponents and will be up and about for this 4 point opportunity. With Yarra looking for one more win to make sure they stay in D2 next year, I think they will have the urgency to get them passed the Ants at home. Just.

Cobras v Aquinas: The Cobras are back home and will be thinking they are a real chance to get another win against the men from Ringwood. Last week for 2
3/4 Aquinas took it right up to MHSOB and a boil over looked possible. With that sort of form, I think they can get the win away.

West Brunny v Hoes: Should be a great clash (of the clash jumpers). We got absolutely belted there last year and I think this is the best home ground advantage in our division this year. The West men know how to play and defend on the long skinny ground and are very difficult to beat at home. The Hoers still have quite a few missing unfortunately and as such I am tipping WB for the win.
(I'm also not at training tonight so I cant get smashed in the tackling exercise for picking against us).

House v OP's: OP's will be looking at every opportunity to close the door on MHSOB and secure finals activity. That said, the House love a contested games of footy and will be matching Mappas Mob in the determination stakes. I think the Raiders will not let this slip and will grind out another victory on their way to finals action in a few weeks time.

Have a great weekend all, no injuries.

Cmon Chump, come clean buddy!!!

I was down there last night and saw you camped out in your humpy!!

Also, perplexes me as to how a homeless man has access to internet, does Hoe Park provide free wifi?

Yes, the players all chipped in and purchased some data for me. Terrific group of people down there to be honest!

Well done to the West Brunswick men today - too good for us for much of the day. The end result was 5 goals and could easily of been 10 - IMO.

As I have been saying, this division is closer than some would have you believe and I still think there is a bit to play out yet.

We will get back on the track this week and keep working hard on our development as a team, lots to improve on after todays hit out.

WB too good. Should have won by more. Could have taken over as flag favorites

My understanding is your mob had several key players missing today Chump. Selwood, Close et al. might make a difference come finals. That said, WB had several important Players on the sidelines also. Watched the game today and on bog heap I thought Ivanhoe looked better early. It was scrappy and Ivanhoes big bodies and press made it hard for WB to clear their backline.

It opened up more in the second half. WB got a bit of run happening and a multi-faceted forward set-up meant multiple targets. Ivanhoe were never far off the pace and the next time they play should be worth watching.

Obviously too long a warm up last night ??
Serious question which role takes priority?

Good assessment of todays game Silver. Both had a few out and I'm a Billy Irving fan so WB will be stronger next time also. Should be a great game in a few weeks time I would suggest.
