I also think it might be reflective of FM and/or FGMs attitude towards the children: Can't be trusted inside the house, might make a mess, interfere with stuff. Put them outside where they can't do any damage to anything (except themselves!).

Yes especially if William was “bouncing out of his skull” as the F Nana said. Could they have just left William to his own devices for a while ( more than five minutes) enjoying the peace.

I think that we are dealing with people who had no real interest in, or affinity for raising or caring for small children, especially a very young, boisterous boy. I think someone had a (delusional) idea that having one or two children, preferably a girl, who could be seen and not heard, perhaps dressed up and paraded around would complete the impression of a successful, happy family. By fostering they would be seen as charitable, caring people, but would prefer to toss the kids into day care until they were school age, rather than investing their own personal time or effort themselves. I think William's need for attention and boisterous nature was seen as an annoyance to FM and FGM, rather than a normal, or even endearing quality. In a 'normal' situation, children of this age are, and should be, the centre of attention when they are around family - that's just how things are with very young children. It's not normal or natural to expect them to sit quietly and amuse themselves while the adults get on with 'adult stuff'.

That's true. In the days when people had lots of kids, there was always company of older kids for the young ones to play with and learn from. Now we put all the young ones in together and expect them to learn.

I get what you’re saying about the supposed ‘power’ of a cheap camera.

But how cold was it ? It was Spring time. Decks are often lovely places to convene in the morning, and Kids tend to like the floor

Really cold, FGM warm socks and slippers warm pants and a jumper L socks shoes dressing gown and FM said she wanted William in warm clothes and had to argue with him about an extract shirt.

Demand in the foster system exceeds supply. Once you volunteer for foster care, you may be available for a number of different types of placements : emergency short-term and respite care included. We had many children come through our place over a few years.

That's true. In the days when people had lots of kids, there was always company of older kids for the young ones to play with and learn from. Now we put all the young ones in together and expect them to learn.

And in those days, couples with children tended to care for them in the home, rather than put them in day-care at least until they were school-age. Double-income families where both parents worked full-time with young children were rare, rather than the 'norm'. If you were wealthy, you might have employed a nanny. If you were not wealthy, it was because only one parent was the breadwinner, and the other was the homemaker, or these duties were shared. Not that day-care is necessarily bad - it's a good social development environment for young children, especially if they don't have large sibling groups. But children are generally better adjusted if they spend most of their time in the family home with one or more parents and siblings.

William would have been really excited being at F Nans too. With Nan reading the paper it wouldn’t have been his idea of fun with Nan, especially the first morning.

It’s hard to know what William was or wasn’t excited about, since he’s not here to give his version of events or to tell his story. Which is truly tragic.

You can make a formal request for information under the GIPA Act. This allows you to access documents held by NSW government agencies, including those related to criminal court cases.
There are certain restrictions which relate to different courts and different cases.
The Act only applies to Government agencies AFAIK.

Would participants in this thread be interested in me presenting work I have done a lot of analysis on the images of William Tyrrell. There are a lot of issues with the photos other than the timestamp. I would be happy to present one issue at a time and discuss. The images were given to the police and the coroner to prove he was at Kendall. They also established an alibis for the FF.

On the 12th September, 2014 at 9.37am, the weather was overcast. There was no direct sunlight. Prior to 8 am the sun was out and Sunny. The roofing material was semi translucent polycarbonate roofing. With an overcast day with this sort of roofing, there should be no shadows at all. At the time of the day was this photo taken, was it sunny or overcast?

The sun direction at 9.37 should be parallel to the floor boards. William is facing directly in the direction of the sun at that time of day. The verandah is completely covered. Can anyone see what is wrong with this photo?

Sunrise was 5.53am. Sun elevation at 9.37 was calculated by several here at approx 45° (18°at 7.39)..Equinox happens 23 September so direct east west rise set but the house was slightly at angle being either NW or NE (can't recall which) so will change the angle of sun on verandah roof. The house was surrounded by high trees to the east. But at 45° it should have cleared them if it had cleared the clouds.

Addendum: looking back at weather on the day at Kendall it says it was scattered clouds from rise to at least 10.30..
