Guys, do you think that Papa played at St Marys to be with mates, which is what I'm led to believe. For heavens sakes leave the poor guy alone, great player, yes too good for our division but all the same a delight to watch even though he cut our side apart.
Good luck to Papa I hope he make an impression in the VFL and if he doesn't make it at least he had a crack....how many good players retire from football or any sport wondering what if they had a crack at a higher level, could I have made it?

watts from uni has played up in the vfl level before not much difference between him and papa from what i saw. papa was a good player deserves to have a chance to play higher wish him all the best just a shame he played in a team that didnt make the grand final would capped off a great year for the bloke

Yep spot on Manny,who amongst us doesn't want be the best they can be at whatever they are doing,many examples in every club,Ive seen trainers keep a players airways open till an ambulance arrived,a timekeeper fresh out of hospital turn up to do his job,coaches picking players up to go to training,reserve club umpires front up to run the boundary for the seniors etc.etc.Let papa have his shot,BTW would any D4 coach say they wouldn't have him if he showed up pen in hand?

Spot on Manny. Too many coulda, shoulda, woulda blokes out there ready to knock someone when they give higher footy a crack.
Even if they don't make it, no harm in trying.
In saying that, still don't understand Papa's D4 season???????

I don't know that many here have questioned his playing ability - it's a strange move to drop to D4, and I have questioned his motives being solely to be noticed and then play at a higher level.
I reckon he wanted to play a season with some mates and a league b & f was a fair chance as an added bonus. He missed out on a flag, but that happens. And now he's back to having a serious crack at his footy.

how about we set up another thread where papa's name isnt mentioned; where people stop offering useless predictions; and most importantly where ruckmachine can stop submitting foolish posts that misrepresent his choice of sexuality........

I like Lakey's idea for a preseason comp for D4 (from the other thread I am not reading).
We only need one ground for a weekend and could make a carnival of it.
Top idea.
With some of the quality administrators involved at D4 clubs, I see this being a real possibility.

If we could get a sponsor for it and have a prize for 1st 2nd 3rd then it might be worth doing. It would be awesome if we could hold it at punt rd or glenferrie oval...

Poor Nelly would be running around on crutches by the end of Saturday morning, and in a wheelchair by the finals. We could put extra batteries on the chair so he could keep up with the play though.
