Years ago, an elderly mechanic working on my car spotted a North sticker on the back window and remarked, "North are a good value side". This was quite a while after our last premiership, but he meant we just gave 100% effort throughout every game, regardless of talent or ability. That's just quite frankly gone.

None of the commentators in these clips and articles offer any solutions and none of them think anyone in the team or the club is going to get sacked or moved on. So we get more of the same indefinitely with zero incentive for anyone to improve and the big plan seems to be to persevere with what we’ve got.

Most commentary is concerning the lack of effort the players show consistently in defence. When there is no change to that after a bad loss, how can it ever change? The biggest non negotiable in football, for paid professionals, is to give their complete effort at all times.

Such an easy, simple fix, that we are simply incapable of.

Majority of the solution is on the effing players to have some pride and play hard committed football as Jimmy Bartel commented on. No one can go out there and do it for them. It’s up to them! They need to be hard on each other and if Luke Parker was brought in to help set the standard, well maybe he’s the one to stand in front of them and tell them how it is because it wasn’t like that at the Swans. Hard when he’s been at the club for 5 min but the time is now.

No shit, Jimmy
This is what we need!! For people like JB to call it out! To put the spotlight on our players!! It very rarely happens. They need to be embarrassed in the public eye. Players who play for big clubs can’t hide - ours can!

I say thank you JB!

Jimmy Bartel is bang on.

There is still just so much wrong with our game. Our players, and this includes some huge fan favourites:

• Don't communicate.
• They're afraid to just take a tackle
• They don't bodyline the ball
• They don't run hard on transition
• Have pride to beat their man
• Have an interest in working together to set up well
• Are pigheaded about what they want to do versus what they should do
• Take the easy option almost every time

I'm not sure anyone can turn this group around. It's an awful combination of football unintelligence, hardness, pride, competitiveness, leadership, drive and commitment.

Yes, these blokes hit good 20m sprint times, vertical leap tests, agility tests, and looked the part against their fellow juniors.

But they just don't seem committed to being part of a strong AFL team.

A lot of this stuff would have, or should have been drummed into them before becoming AFL footballers. So if the penny hasn't dropped now, will it ever?

The amount of times a game I mutter "talk, you idiots" is... Well, a lot.

So if we took out Corr, McDonald, Jy, Logue. I reckon we’ll have more skillful players who are ready to show they want to play for 4 quarters while giving them a chance to develop.

What I don’t understand is Bartel is right in pointing this out, but we’ve been saying the same shit for over two years.

The ball-watching is insane. Everyone going for the same contest. Leaving men wide open in the corridor. Total panic footy.

It's so hard to watch us. Feels like I'm trapped in a time loop.

I’m honestly dumbfounded how Corr continues to get games. Take away the fact we picked him up as a free agent on a long term deal and he would have been delisted at the end of last year. He’s a plodder and unfit who doesn’t give a stuff. I’d rather bring in Kallan Dawson

I would love Jimmy at our club. A person like him could be the difference

"Talk and move" are the two things you will hear in the stands with our blokes.
Invest in megaphones then, maybe hearing it around the ground for our next home games teaches some of them
