I guess the Suns will be overpaying twice then so why you feel the need to beat your chest over it shall have too remain a mystery. It's slightly of topic here - but tbh I think it's the right play from the tigers.

Given the market isn't stacked full of stars that can pull them out of the hole they're in, hitting the draft is a better alternative - rather than cuff themselves to a lifetime of mediocrity like St Kilda have done by paying up for middle of the road talent that never takes them deep in to finals, but keeps them stranded in middle ground and away from the bottom 4.

Given the Tassie drafts loom and it will be a mess for any clubs to secure elite young talent, load up on talent now and batten down the hatches for a rough few years while they develop is a solid call from Richmond.

Sorry to burst your bubble and fantasy world, Clubs don't go out and show interest for 8 to so months like GC have with Noble and offer a big deal, then not go through with it. It puts other players, managers and clubs off dealing with them.
