I listened to it again and it said Sarah and her friends are planning a picnic for an open aired concert in Kings Park. Maybe they were doing it at either the friend in Mosman Park's place as she had been there earlier in the day or at their flat in South Perth.
Yes , just heard that on cia doco.

I posted this on the media thread, but moved it to here :)
Interesting that in the young school pic is wearing glasses, also in the latter school pic. Wears glasses now.
As far as I am aware, no witness (Huntingdale, Telstra Living) has reported glasses....When did contacts becomes a thing in Australia???

Contact lens were the first thing I saved up for when I got a job as a teenager and that was thirty years ago. Quite a few people had them.

Screams were heard in Wellard?

interesting

"Prosecutor Carmel Barbagallo told a preliminary court hearing that two witnesses living near Woolcoot Road in Wellard heard a "loud, high-pitched female scream, which stopped abruptly and was followed by silence".

Which is very much like what I heard when camping with friends off Pippiddinny Road, Eglinton, in mid March 1997.

Do you think that the time and date.. could be actually when CG was murdered?
Can you tell the story as you recall ?

Absolutely it could, and thats why the Claremont case has always felt quite personal to me, albeit indirectly.

I think we can all remember when Ciara went missing. That’s when the level of fear gripping Perth arguably reached it’s peak....and when her body turned up on Pippidinny Road a few weeks after I had gone camping there with a few cadet mates from high school, definitely etched the timeframe in my mind.

Im not sure how many of you would of been there back then (I have no idea what it’s like now, developed into suburban sprawl is my understanding?) but there was only one road (Pippidinny - where Ciara was found) which led in to the limestone car park which then led to the beach and a maze of beach and dune tracks which were used by fisherman etc, led down to the old Alkimos wreck etc.

My friends and I were dropped off at the car park by my old man, and we set up camp in the high dunes which overlooked Pippidinny Road and the carpark itself. You could see prob a good 1 km down the road, so could see anything that came in and out pretty clearly. By day the place was fairly quiet other than a fairly regular stream of 4 wheel drivers, but at night it became quiet and kind of eerie. A very isolated feeling, especially for a bunch of 16 year wannabe SAS hiding out in the dunes in there auscams. It was also very still, and other than the ocean, and 4 wheel drives hooning around, and the odd gun shot, you didn’t hear much. So when you did, you knew what you were hearing.

One of the nights we were there we distinctly heard a short female scream coming from Pippidinny road, and then as was described with Jane Rimmer, silence. It wasn’t particularly anguished. Just very short in duration and feminine. The creepy bit was we saw no car down there. Just a scream in the night.

Then Ciara turned up there a few weeks later.

Not going to over blow the story, and say YES it was Ciara and CSK, but I’ve always wondered.

If it was March 1997 you need to have reported such to WA Police - was a report done ?

Nah mate. We were a bunch of kids. I told my parents about the scream when we got picked up, but they thought we were just kids making up yarns. And my dad would never go to police about anything, regardless of what.

Its great when we have new posters in here who actually have some first hand things to add to the case.

Have you been reading this CSK thread much over the course of this year, or only just recently found it?

Read a bit, but find the endless ridiculous rabbit holes and conspiracy theories frustrating.

I know it was 22 years ago, but can you remember around what time of night the scream was heard. Like before or well after midnight?

They should be in THE BUNKER now, the place where bad theories go to die.

Yes. That infamous CSK BUNKER is sometimes full of quicksand.

I usually take a stash of sandwedge bags in there with me for protection.

If Ciara was found with this blokes DNA under her finger nails, I really struggle to see how we get anything but a guilty verdict out of this.

They can't help you in the bunker, I put on a helmet and my steel caps before wading in there

I can remember the hysterical stuff that was being said about Peter Weygers and his supposed ‘assistant’ Steven Ross....the Romuald Zak conspiracy....I suppose it was all fun and exciting when this thing seemed like it would never be solved...all harmless fun I suppose. Except for the parents of the three murdered girls, and the innocent men being crucified with innuendo.

There's a discussion about that in the bunker as well. There aren't many here who aren't well aware of the people whose lives were ruined through the investigation.

That is why the defense will focus on putting doubt into the DNA evidence and its Chain of Custody.

Including maybe getting clarification of whether there was any other DNA traces in the Ciara Glennon mixed sample DNA under her fingernails.

And if so, whether the traces matched those of any of the Chain of Custody DNA handlers, or workers who might have possibly had access to the fingernails over all those years.

The prosecution case
7 The State's case against the accused may be summarised as follows.
In 2009, a forensic examination revealed the presence of a mixed DNA profile originating from at least two individuals in a sample from two fingernails on the left hand of Ms Glennon. The mixed DNA profile is consistent with coming from two contributors, being Ms Glennon and a male. The male component of the mixed DNA profile matches the accused's DNA profile.

Defence would have been all over the "at least" wording to signify that there was likely someone/something else's DNA as well as Ciara's and accused detected.

Possibly just a family pet (cat or dog)?

Or just an evidence handler or DNA tester with really bad dandruff?
