How is Chris Judd remembered?

Obviously a terrific player for both.

Will be remembered for team and individual success at West Coast. His reputation was not tainted by the drug culture there.

Will be remembered for individual success and the dodgy contract with Visy at Carlton.

I'm enjoying this series I must say. Looking forward to Tony Lockett.

Unfortunately I remember Chris Judd as a Blue.

His work with the Weagles was brilliant. But he went on and on with the Blues.

Eagles Judd is what has him comparable for his era with the likes of Ablett, Buckley etc.
Carlton Judd was just not on that same level.

Because he switched to a more inside contested role where he was less flashy with less X factor.

Clearly a better player at the Eagles but was still a top 3 mid in the game for most of his time at Carlton. A Brownlow, 4 AA’s, 3 BnF’s and a coaches award. Dragged an average list over the line time and time again.

I think the fact that he never fully recovered from that OP injury yet still remained amongst the very best players in the game is a testament to how bloody good he was. He had to completely reinvent his playing style and very few have done that with such success.

The most memorable things of 2007 are the emergence of GAJ & Geelong and Ben Cousins going off the rails... The most forgotten thing of 2007 is how good Judd was for the first two months - he was completely out of control until OP struck around Round 10.

What is it with these either / or qs? How about both / and?

Yeah early 2007 Judd was otherworldly, it was like his 04-06 version in a bigger body, he was still so fast and explosive but even more muscular and strong
And then it busted sadly, still a champion at the Blues of course

Eagles.

He had team success and was at his scintillating best in those years.

Whereas at Carlton he spent those years mostly losing and occasionally making finals while not having the same impact and playing at the lofty heights he reached at the Eagles; it was a mere shadow of his best football.

Probably the Blues, but there's some recency bias there. He stood out more and had more impact at the Blues because he was an absolute superstar in not a great team, compared to the teams he played with at the Eagles.

Still remember his third quarter against the Swans in Sydney in the 2010 elim final. Possibly the best individual quarter I've seen from a player. Utterly dominant. Super human effort to drag his team back into the game and almost win.
