His name is Cooper Keogh and he should be on an AFL list. Former basketballer.

There were whispers on him getting drafted last year but obviously didn’t happen. Biggest issue is that he’s about 27/28yo now.

Van Rooyen. He’s the one that’s come through the system most recently that West reminds me of. Melbourne’s biggest issue is they’ve just kept playing him and bad habits have crept into his game. He doesn’t fly at the ball anymore and gets pushed off it way too easily. Perhaps he’s carrying something, but I’d be disappointed if I were a Dees fan in his progression.

What Van Rooyen has been carrying is too much load for a young player, the Dees have used him as a 2nd ruck then expect him to fly at the ball and take big marks. If I were a Dees fan I would be disappointed with how he is going but I think the Dees are a big part of why he is stagnated.

But to be fair, if not for a brain fade he had 2 against GWS in a game where almost the entire side played horrifically, then he was a hair away from another 2 against Carlton

So while he has 6 and is technically our leading goalkicker, he was within an inch of having 8 already

So personally not 100% sure I agreed with the "struggling" idea for him (I'm aware it didn't come from you).

I reckon Tim is 100% doing what was expected of a 30 year old free agent 3rd forward. He's currently on track for this career average of 30 goals for the season.

Membrey was the one dragging Weitering away from contests and keeping him relatively quiet.

Spot on, I've said it a few times, they are almost identical in size, leaping ability, and so far a good straight kick.

Ill go into bat for him. Any forward would suffer in that shitshow of structure and fwd line. The surrounding cast are horrible (kozzie only other half decent player there anymore), you have fritsch shooting for goal from anywhere, hack kicks like jack viney putting it over your head or at your ankles. Then after all that you have to chop gawn out in the ruck after he labors around the ground not being a vertical threat pushing forward like he used to.

He sacrificed his game last Thursday by trying to negate Weitering - did a decent job IMO

Im not sure that he killed Coxy...Certainly his body positioning where he took away Steene's big leap, completely flummoxed Steene, who proceeded to horribly mistime his leaps...

Kicking 4 or 5 in a big VFL win means nothing yet really. Doing it consistently and building his forward craft, leading patterns, positioning etc is when he’ll be ready for a crack in the seniors

I would say McStay given his effectiveness as a backup ruck for Darcy Cameron. If Cox comes in, then it's another story.

McStay isn't getting dropped while fit. The recency bias with performance is something luckily the coaches see through

Yep, looking like a solid select..... Completely agree he has an air of attitude about his footy. A couple of his contested marking exceptional on the weekend. Kicking for goal excellent and his field kicking high level too which was a knock in his draft year.
