Kicked 5 in preseason games too. So promising signs.

Just needs to keep on improving down there this year and learn as much as possible. Put in a big preseason and see where it takes him.

If his form warrants wouldn't hurt to give him a taste later in the year vs a bottom side to show him where it's at.

I doubt it. Might get replaced by WHE if they want more run and flexibility, but so far I think the coaching panel would be more than happy with what Membrey is contributing. Don't think anyone else is in line to take his place.

Doubt it. He adds more value than just goal kicking, he makes life far easier of Checkers and McStay.

What Van Rooyen has been carrying is too much load for a young player, the Dees have used him as a 2nd ruck then expect him to fly at the ball and take big marks. If I were a Dees fan I would be disappointed with how he is going but I think the Dees are a big part of why he is stagnated.

The Dees are horrifically bad at developing tall forwards and have been for some time now.

You need a power forward to take contested marks. Reckon Pendlebury would outmark Grundy in a contest and Pendles hasn't taken a contested mark in five years.

Same here. We’re starting to see a lot of green shoots on the contest stuff which was my main query entering the season. It’s seriously early days, but that suggests he’s extremely coachable and more importantly if he’s strong in the contest with his athletic profile that’s as good a base as any for a senior KPF. As an FYI the mark he took to setup Markov’s goal was better.

Ash Johnson could learn a thing or two from Charlie about presence in a contest.

Honestly, Charlie seems to have just as good if not better ground game and pressure as AJ, plus obviously being far better in the air and contest. Probably around the same fitness at this stage, too. Maybe AJ is a better finisher?

He may well not be, but West is and plays like a genuine KPF.

AJ has always been a 3rd tall fwd almost flanker in build and style, best on the move and floating in.
Not as a lynch pin KPF contested beast.

He (AJ) is complimentary to a McStay and Mihocek type not a replacement for them.

West has an interesting body shape, this is just from tv highlights, when he is standing alone, he just looks like a large midfielder, its only when his teammates get around, you notice how big he actually is in comparison.
his contested marking was a real feature yesterday, not to mention his goal kicking accuracy when having a set shot
its a shame there is a bye in the VFL this week

Peter Daicos had an interesting body shape, he wasn’t bad.
