First bounce against the Demons.

Umpire bounces it and Xerri taps it into a nest of Demons, Simpkin smothers the kick of Clayton, Powell picks it up, shimmies one way then the other, releases a handball to LDU who puts on the afterburners, he's undecided, he goes for a kick to noone in particular and the ball will be thrown in 30 metres from the goals North are kicking too. North have numbers around the contest. The ball is thrown in, Gawn taps it towards the boundary picked up by Rivers handball to Lever, Lever in a bit of trouble gives it to Bowie, he's pinned against the boundary but manages a handball to Clayton who picks out Petracca all alone in the centre, he takes one bounce, Powell is giving chase, ("chase is a bit strong" - Commentator in backround) he takes another and from 40 metres out, Melbourne get the first goal of the game.

Would like to see Coops coming in but our forward line functioned pretty well, just needed to take our chances.
Pink/K Dawson or Witlock can come in if there are injuries to Logue or Comben.
Hardeman in for Archer

On form and structure, it was probably between him and Parker and Clarko backed in the more experienced player.
Yeah I was scratching my head watching the replay thinking who might be subbed off. Konstanty and RHJ are the types that you'd expect, but they were both playing well too. If we'd just waited a little longer to pull the trigger, Griff's hammy would have made the call for us.

Well, we were desperate to get Tucker on for his flair and game changing ability.
He's close to the weirdest sub choice in the squad.

I'd see more value in subbing in Toby Pink and telling him to lead and up down the wings as a decoy.

The bar is obviously very low. 3 tackles over 3 quarters.
There are tackles and tackles though - from memory 2 (all 3?) resulted in a turnover and free kick our way. Turnstiles that don't impact the play mean little. Lies, lies and damned statistics.

I really like Ford, but I think Harvey is a really smart footballer - just knows where to be to get a goal or two.

I also think that he will be better at AFL level, not in terms of fitness, but in terms of being able to get involved in the play and being dangerous as soon as he is on.

With Ford, I would really like to see them try him as a Sicily-type distributor off the half-back line. He is a beautiful kick and they generally reach their target really quickly.
