Kep, ibbo/ McPhee out. Duff aswell if injured.
In- Silvagni (fwd line preferably) a kpp who can mark- yay! In also Mundy, like most have said, as the sub. Would be nice to get a real inside mid such as neale, lower or spurr in also if possible. There's a few outs possible for their inclusions

This sounds about right. Mundy would be almost a certainty I hope, as would Silvagni.
I wonder when they will start thinking about Morabito. Don't want him in the WAFL too long. He would make a superb sub, start getting his touch back in the big-time. I expect they want to nurse Mundy a week or so first.
And what about the forgotten man Grover? You know you are going to get effort every time. Can't rebound but gee we could have done with his stopping yesterday when the backline was inhabited by Seagulls.
If Mello doesn't come up I'd love to see Crozier have a run. I reckon Croz could play AFL. He's smart, fast and bloody hard for his size. Probably doesn't have the fitness base for 4 quarters yet. Neale more likely and I'd be happy to see that too.

After yesterday's performance, (Mora's not Freo's) I can't see why they wouldn't be playing Mora this week and have him as the sub. He's ready IMO.

Give Mundy another week just to be sure.

Totally agree with your comments about Grover and yesterday's backline! There's no denying we were as soft as s*** down there yesterday.

I'm not sure Crozier is quite ready yet, but I'd certainly love to see him out there and hey, I didn't think Hill or Fyfe were ready when they debuted either.

Some have suggested Roberton but I'm not convinced on him yet, needs to improve his disposal and mobility. I wouldn't be playing him this week in front of Mora, Silva or Mundy.

It's looking like we've got some good players on our rookie list, so over time with their development we'll see the last of the dumbarse brigade be relegated which should be good for next year (our last crack at it for a while IMO).

In: Silvagni, Lower, Mundy
Out: Bradley, Suban, Duffield/Mellington (assuming one of them misses)

Who knows if Lower will come straight back in, but either way Suban should not be playing this week. Bring in JVB or Roberton, and before anyone says it - neither are any slower than Suban.

Bradley tries hard, but when was the last time he took an overhead mark? Especially a contested one? With Clarke up forward, we can afford to strengthen our back line with an extra tall. And Silvagni can always go forward if needed anyway.

None of this really solves the lack of a small forward problem. But Mayne was good, and we can just rotate the likes of Fyfe, Barlow and Mundy through the forward line. Good enough while we wait for Ballantyne.

I'd love to be playing on Roberton. As a 40 year old who loves a chop, I still reckon I could outrun him over the first 20m. He's slower than a wet week. Like paint drying.

Yep, no Roberton for me. After watching the Swans bomb a ball into our backline and see Dawson, McPhee and MJ amble back to collect the loose ball; Jetta streamed passed them all and beat them to it. No way could Roberton get into the team while those 3 are playing.

Nothing has changed from last year with the small quick forwards hurting us.

Have Brisbane got anyone small on the same level of Betts/Jetta/Milne/Rioli?

The real weakness in our back line in the last two games has been mcharlin. He has been by far the weakest link amongst the tall backs. Reid murdered mcharlin until Dawson gave him a bump that limited his influence.

Mcpharlins form so far in pre season and these games has been well below standard. He should make way for silvani

The closest would be Banfield.

As much as I agree Mcpharlin has been below average, he won't get dropped. Silvagni should be used up forward to take a grab and apply some pressure. Been disappointed with Kepler and he should be the first to make way. He has no use as a second ruckman and can't take a grab as a key forward.
Mundy needs to come in. Him and Barlow are our midfield

Amen. He's sucked.

I agree with all this. Suban definitely needs to go and have some time in the WAFL. For someone who is supposed to be a good kick, he hardly hits a target. He just panics and throws it on the boot. I don't know if he should really be playing as a defender. Seems a bit disinterested but that's just my opinion.

Anyway looks like we got some good inclusions still to come in.

Lee Spurr looks the ideal replacement for Suban. Excellent pace and from yesterday's game (I know, I know it's only one game of only WAFL) he seems to be more agile than Suban and his kicking was very impressive off both feet. Trouble is he's on the rookie list!

I wonder if Crozier or Neale could play that role? Perhaps a bit light, although Banfield is only 83kg himself? I'd back one of them in. Otherwise it'll be left to JVB to replace Suban I'd say.

Broughton back playing as a defender taking Subans spot.

Suban into midfield playing whatever role Broughtons been playing.
If Suban still fails to get involved enough drop him.
In the past with Suban its always taken him about 4 games to find any form an start playing pretty good consistant footy.

Neale in replacing Mellington or duffield if either miss due to injury.

Silvagni replacing Dawson

Keps out Mundy in(sub)

I was thinking Spur could be the small defender we need. Can Sutcliffe/Forster be put on the LTI?

Out: Duff (inj), Barlow (as sub), McPharlin (2012), Bradley (can't mark), DeBoer (fwd), Pavlich (mid), Suban (def)
In: Barlow (not sub), McPharlin (2011), Bradely (can mark), DeBoer (mid), Neale (fwd/mid), Pavlich (fwd), Suban (mid)

We are so much better with Barlow in the middle. Our forward line runs tall. I'm comfortable injecting an extra small running midfield rotation at the expense of one of our non marking tall forwards.

I hope you mean DeBoer mid and Pav fwd...

Forward line was way too tall, really missed Ballantyne. Realistically, Anthony and Kep were both sub-par, but Anthony's effort was good and he deserves a few games in a row to show his worth. Dawson is an ok one-on-one defender, but his ball use is pathetic.

The ins are incredibly hard to pick. Hopefully Neale will do enough tomorrow to earn selection assuming we lose both Mellington and Duffield. Whether Mundy can come in as the sub is anyone's guess.
