In: Aish, Erasmus
Out: Voss (Susp), Ryan (Rest)

Draper can ruck for 30%.
If needed Erasmus could ruck around the ground, if Darcy needed an additional rest.

Sub: Not Dudley.
Zero chance we are rucking Drapes. He might have the hops for it, but he is at risk of blowing away in a stiff breeze.

Cox? He’s at least had a go there already
I feel like the only player who would make the ruck half competitive would be Treacy unfortunately.

Voss actually does alright imo bc of his follow up. I’m not sure we have another big body like that.

I don’t think Cox has ruck work or the follow up required. But he would provide an option forward if Treacy was in there.

It’s just backup for Darcy resting, right? Five minutes of Cox a quarter should be adequate, especially if it’s against the Dees’ backup. We can’t use Treacy as he’s the only key forward kicking goals.

Yeah I don’t know. He just lacks any sort of athleticism that would even half the contest for those five minutes a quarter. I know he’s done it before especially early on but not sure he could after all those injuries.

No one else is going to halve the contest though. We used to get acres to ruck and he did an alright job. Cripps also sometimes rucks for Carlton. Someone like Johnson, who is as tall as Cripps, could have a go. Anyway, I’d just put a body in there and make it a midfield fight. The Dees are poor forward and in defence. Maybe put a soft tag on Oliver and beat them around the ground.

**** me I’d erased Acres back up rucking from my mind. What was going on there

Cripps rucking has been working so well for Carltank. All you get from a Mid rucking is reducing their mid effectiveness and increasing their chances of injury. It was a criticism of Carltons tactics so far this year.

I'd go Draper of McDonald. Only use Tracy in case of emergency (ie the last quarter in Bulldogs game), he needs to be up forward.

Dudley should not be the Sub.

Yes it’s stupid from Vossy

Drapes was rucking during the Richmond game.
Did alright too actually. 2 HTA from 3 RCs. Don't know who he was up against though. With Voss out though we'd need the extra forward. I don't think playing Draper forward has the impact you'd want. So unless he rucks from defence and Cox swings forward I don't think it should happen.

Lol play Reidy, who offers zero around the ground, for a whole game just so we can have someone take Darcy's RCs for a couple minutes a quarter?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not advocating for it. But Reidy was an emergency for our last game and clearly the next tall in line.

Made sense in case Darcy was a late out. He may be the next tall in line (🤢) but I'm pretty sure we can get better cover from those already in the team. We're very tall in general.

Yeah I'd expect better coverage from Future Norm Smith Medalist Bailey Banfield as a backup ruck.

I’ll make an argument for Vossy here.

I thought he was cooked when I saw it.

Watch this angle.

He approaches and Vlastuin puts the arm out for the fend

I reckon Vossy then swung over and down to break the fend.
He got him high and it had power but I reckon he’s got an argument
