Surprised this isn't up yet.

No changes unless Voss is suspended. If he is, well I don't know. We're likely replacing the tall output from within the squad and playing smaller around the ground as we really don't have another quality tall available. Miracle with Jackson perhaps?
One option is Davies in and a defender goes into a ruck/forward roll.

Wagner may come into consideration if fit, however, Worner was actually impressive defensively. What do they want, more rebound or sounder defence?

Few options for losing Voss with hopefully the only other iffy one being Ryan (but I'd bet he gets up). Cooper being ready would have been nice but he's not.

Either go the rare defender/ruck and leave the backs unchanged with a smaller forwardline or Cox forward/ruck, Aish in.

If Ryan doesnt get up I wonder if they bring Davies in

Are other teams this unable to/stubborn about flipping a non-defender back? We really only do it as a "break glass" scenario with JOM/Banners, as happened today when we subbed Ryan off. Some suggested Young there, but he's shown how potent he is rotating fwd that you stick with that instead imo.

JL has been fairly stubborn about 3 tall fwds even when the mix wasn't great, and I wouldn't expect that to stop. Voss out (assuming suspension), rotate Cox/Draper fwd, Wagner/Aish into the backline.

None of the fringe players played their way out of a spot, and none of Ras/Narkle/Simpson played their way into one (nobody else who played WAFL is worth mentioning). Wouldn't mind seeing Dudley start, but limited tank hurts when still managing players back.

Melbourne only have Van Rooyen in the forward line over 190cm.

If anything we need to drop a tall from the back half so we don't get killed on ground level, regardless of Voss potentially being suspended.

We don't need so many tall defenders against the Demons, so someone from there can definitely do a ruck chop-out

Amiss needs a rest, idk what’s wrong with him
Amiss presence is distracting and stretching defences enough so Treacy can be more potent.

Take amiss out and Treacy i dare say would be double teamed and makes his role harder.

Jye might be down on form but structurally he is important to our best key forward in Treacy

All it’s doing right now is ruining his confidence, he needs to go to the seconds, kick a bunch of goals get his confidence back then come back into the team like a man on fire
Considering our game plan relies on halving/winning contests down the line, dropping Amiss and losing Voss to suspension in the same week would be an unforced error. There’s no point even considering dropping Amiss till we have a tall forward to replace him.

Poor timing from Voss. Assume he’s out. Couldn’t he have waited until Jackson was back??

Could bring Duds into the 22 and play a smaller forward line?

Could bring Aish into the 22 and play young and some of the other mids forward a bit more?

Don’t understand people calling for Cox to go forward, he’s really starting to find his touch down back, I wouldn’t be messing with that.

Hell no. He's not AFL standard yet.

Cox forward did not work last time, but I do think we need to keep 3 talls ahead of the ball for structure.
Will be a tricky one with all of Sturt, Jackson, Voss unavailable, and Reidy not up to scratch. Stuffed if I know.

Last time he played forward I think Treacy and Amiss had 3 and 4 goals. It worked.

Draper forward and ruck for a week. His short ruck cameo at the end looked good.

Melbourne don’t have a tall forward line. Cox, Pearce and Chapman are all quite tall.

Bring in Dudley play Narkle as sub.

Thing is Cox is a big body and very good contested mark. He’ll attract a lot of attention from a good defender (see Harris Andrews last year) freeing up Amiss and Treacy more. Don’t really think Draper falls into the same category. Less attention put into him.

Maybe he’d be better in the ruck but I’m not sure up forward he’d have much impact.

Think the whole “swing cox forward” relies on Ryan getting up, if he’s out injured I don’t think we mess with the backline anymore than Aish or Wagner in for Ryan.
Maybe O Mac in for Voss, or roll the dice on young Riddle as the second ruck.
