You are right he isn't costing us games. I just don't think he is the player he was at the end of last year. I can only hope he is reaching the goals the MC are setting as his attack on the footy/man hasn't been to the same level IMO this year which take away that attack and he is not the same player.

Do we take from Brennan being dropped that his direct opponent has been given too much room? Or is it just a case of getting some more attacking power in and getting the balance right with less defenders?

Yep I agree, I doubt weedon will play though. I feel that stevenson and the like have been hindered by playing for claremont because of the number of guns playing there, at another club Lewis could probably play through the middle but is stuck playing in the backline. Stevenson has all the tools to be a good afl player but due to the MC obviously not rating him he has not been given the chance. He has only just turned 23 so he is not a lost cause and I hope he is given a chance at another club because his cards are definitely marked at the eagles.

How mcginnity keeps getting a game is beyond me. Stevenson is taller, better skilled and does not lack pace, mcginnity only thing is a bit of mongrel. His tagging this year has been awful and the only games he impacts is when he comes on as a sub. The use of him in the forward line has been a joke and the only players that are not better forwards on our entire list would be Mackenzie and Glass

exactly. very very very elite skills. when the claremont defenders get the ball they look to give it off to him so he can bring it out of defence

I think the majority of the board and the MC is forgetting that game he had against adelaide in 2010 where he had 20 something possessions and kicked 2 goals.

Strategy perhaps?

If we were worrying about attacking power I have no idea why Brennen would be dropped over McGinnity. Brennen can push forward and kick long goals. McGinnity struggles to hit a target 20m away.

Brennan is a better defender and attacker then McGinnity.

We have actually found a player in Brennan who can do a defensive job, kicks goals and is willing to take the play on and we drop him for a player who can do none of these things.

One of the few times I am really puzzled by the MC's decision.

Woosha's line will be that the club has set goals for each player each match, and that Paddy's meeting those goals.

I think some people are just getting a bit carried away. We've been thumped the past two weeks, and with McGinnity out of the side we still would have been thumped. it's not like he's costing us games.

So what, he is stopping another player getting a game. If they have him meeting his goals the parameters are wrong. I have watched, played and coached many games of football and there is no way his performances have been satisfactory, out of touch players need to be dropped, you can get away with it when they are important in our structure ie lynch, but players like mcginnity should have no leeway. Are they afraid if they send him back to wafl he will get shown up by our other afl players and they will be made to look fools. It is befuddling and giving out of form players sends the wrong message to the group when guys like swift/stevens/neates etc are brought in and out through a revolving door, joke.
