Yeah I think most of the resting talk is really about wanting Allan and Cox to play. If Mitchell returns and we do start rotating the veteran mids - there will be calls for double resting to get Allan into the rotation as well. And Sullivan, who's going well, can get stuffed.

Perryman will go back to the midfield once Houston comes back so I’d rather find the solution now rather than a week later.

I also think we need more composure in the midfield because our mistakes are what kept Sydney in the game longer than they should have been.

Our midfield was basically Nick, Sidey, Pendles and Long with Lipinski and Crisp on the wings.How are you getting more composure into the midfield? Dropping Long or Crisp?

Drop WHE to the sub and have an extra mid rotation up forward which was the scenarios I posed in my original changes.

So…I’m still conservative on us. Banking wins so far though, which is the main thing.

We outplayed the Dogs even with them super pumped up and having about 4 players playing out of their skin. It was just poor goal kicking that stopped that being a comfortable win.

Depends who is fit and who isn't.

To me, Harry is a long way above our other options to play in defence if one of Josh, Houston, IQ or Bruzzy is out - yet on par with our options in the midfield. Him playing some midfield and some weeks in defence now is good and improves us in the back half of the year if we have an injury to a small or medium defender as he'll be better in the system through this experience.

It'd be nice to get AFL permission to play a team of our vfl listed guys to see if any of them should be selected in the msd. They'll all need a block of games to be sure though. The extra benefit is it should result in a better msd pick, so we'll be more likely to get anyone who does impress.

Blues have already hit the lead. They're such an exciting first half team.

This is the best depth we have had in years. Strategically we recruited due to the lack of injury cover last year. The squad mentality means good players are going to miss out every week.

Fly also sounds more strategic in planning. We may already have a team plan for the six day back up.

Every week the best 23 available players to beat the opposition will be picked.

You can’t pick youth just so they won’t leave because of lack of opportunity. Long grabbed his chance and took it. He knows Mitchell and De Goey are coming back. Maybe we have the benefit now of making sure they are ready for the back end of the season.

With each win the team gets belief. As confidence builds it will ripple into their on-field performances.

This year will be a good one. Just how good remains to be seen.
