Obviously McEntee is the new Pittard and Pittard was the new Hitchcock.

The coaches aren’t stupid so he’s doing something right, accept it and support the lad.
Pittard got delisted from North......NORTH! **** me, i don't know how it happened but somehow jasper managed to do the unimaginable.

I will say that I always wanted jasper to succeed purely cause I saw parallels between myself and him, hes an inconsistent erratic left footer.

Pittard made an All Australian squad. Jesus Christ it's disrespectful to lump him in with McEntee and Hitchcock.

Haven’t heard anyone in the national media or the analytics tipsters give us a sniff this week.

Would be nice if we could shake someone else’s tree in a big final rather than having ours shook!

I don’t really like the constant bagging of individual players.

It’s not McEntee’s fault that the coaches keep picking him.

And he doesn’t really have any of the usual attributes of a club whipping boy other than not being up to the required standard of a fringe role player of an AFL team in many supporters eyes.

He’s not soft, he’s not a turnover merchant, doesn’t shit himself in front of goal, he doesn’t have off field issues or a bad attitude, and he seems to be improving gradually for mine.

Who the coaches select is completely out of our control too so it’s not worth getting worked up over who we’ve selected in our final couple spots on the team sheet.

Prolly somewhat fair, being an away game. But really, these sheeple just play follow the leader. Finals are different, literally anything can happen - they rarely ever pan out as you think. But these guys never, ever learn.

Having a go at algorithms for not tipping port ....

Projected score based on Inside 50 differential and the points per inside 50 that each team scored over the course of a 23 game season.

The line for this game is -15.5 to Brisbane, so that means that betting agencies believe that the Lions will generate 3+ more inside 50s than Port Adelaide. I believe if this was held at a neural ground, they'd have the line at -5.5 to Brisbane. They are better than us, but not by some ridiculous amount.

The most critical player for this game for mine is Scott Lycett. If he can replicate this 5 game stretch he had in the middle of the year over the next month:

vs Melbourne

vs Richmond

1693835003028.png

vs Hawthorn

1693834916816.png

vs Western Bulldogs

vs Geelong

Then we not only win this game, but we win the flag. Because if we're going to win it, we need a ruck that can get around the ground and contribute and give our mids a decent look at the ball so we can generate a decent amount of inside 50s and protect our defenders as much as possible. If we had Grundy and one of Ratugolea/McKay/Zerk-Thatcher (though two of them would be better), we'd be favourites for the flag without a shadow of a doubt. The fact that we've made top four without a second intercept defender like every other team in the top four has is a testament to how dominant our mids are.

We need to pressure the **** out of these campaigners, dominate the stoppages and do what Fremantle did in 2013 when they upset Geelong at Kardinia and shock the shit out of the rest of the competition that thinks this game is just a mulligan for Brisbane.

Yep, Lycett‘s role is one of the biggest factors in this game and we need him for all four quarters as Findlayson needs to be kicking goals (without Charlie playing). Our defence lets us down, Brisbane has the most potent forward line unless as you said our pressure has them fumbling. Greats stats, thanks.

I think Port are prepping to win the home final and winning this week would be a bonus.
But hey, you just need Neale to do a hammy in the first.

Will Port be able to deal with the straight sets bullshit that will be thrown at them next week, will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Perhaps having the AFLW to distract them will be the bone the crowmedia need to keep them distracted.

Whatever happens, it should be a fun few weeks and should tell us a lot about whats really going on.

Going to be barracking so hard for Melbourne Thursday night.
Would like Carlton to beat Sydney and the Giants to beat Ross Lyon.

Que sera sera.
Just enjoy the show, which for me means watching the games with the sound off and/or just listening to each game on the radio.

Expecting and/or hoping for this, would send vicmedia into meltdown.

In the game against the Lions in Round 1, Lycett was kinda evenish with Oscar.

It is a pity that it looks like Dixon won't come up for the game as he is a really good number 2 ruck and can really impact a game late.

The more you think about this game, the easier it is to be intimidated by Brisbane’s star factor and depth of quality. They seem, on paper, to have it over us comfortably in ruck, attack and defence. While our young midfield has been exceptional and gives us a sniff in every game, Brisbane also has stars in the midfield and the wings and probably more of them in those positions too.

We are rightfully underdogs, and the away venue and injury toll adds to that.

Still, I reckon this is when we’re at our most dangerous.

Yes I want to change our whole forward strategy for finals!

Our best footy hasn't been good enough historically against the best.

Against the best teams we win the i50 but can't convert.

When they get their turn they do and that's the difference.

It is a failed strategy.

100%. Our forward line is a dog's breakfast.
Out: Implied forward pressure (McEntee)
In: Goals (Fantasia)

Are you ken Hinkley giving a pre game rev-up?

Lycett going on recent history probably has 3 quarters before he's completely cooked, they need to manage his minutes wisely in the first half so he's not subbed at the start of the last quarter.

It's a lot to bank on really, he'll either be combative and useful or complete trash.

Hope we have a plan to keep Andrews busy and pull him away from the contest. One of Fin or Marshall needs to play a decoy role and drag him out of the hot spot.

I will be banging my head against the wall if I watch us consistently bomb it on his head for the easy intercept or spoil again.

Someone needs to be accountable for ensuring his influence is nullified.
