Brian Cook- Carlton to win at least one flag next 5 years

Same things were being said about Richmond under Hardwick, remember when they shat the bed in finals in 2013/2014/2015 before the arse fell out of the joint in 2016?

Richmond had five good players - Deledio, Cotchin, Riewoldt, Rance and Martin.
Carlton have five good players - Curnow, McKay, Weitering, Walsh and Cripps.

The competition isn't any stronger now than it was back then either, because having 18 teams has diluted the talent pool - and it's only going to get worse with Tasmania coming.

My point is this Carlton side is filled with role players after their top five - very similar to the Richmond sides under Hardwick, and could pinch a flag if they finish top 4 and play non Vic sides at the MCG.

Don’t bother, he will continue to bend over backwards to try and discredit Carlton.

Meanwhile, when asked to give examples or back up his statements with anything other than the vibe…crickets.

Rinse, repeat. It’s pretty boring.

As with many things people post about teams they don’t like, just because they want things to be true, doesn’t make them so.

Thats was the only Negative thing about richmond from 2013-2020 era they had. Richmond should of won at least one elim final. Either 2013 or 2015.

The competition isnt any stronger from 2015-24. 18 sides had diluted the talent pool. Once tassie and a 20th side comes in, it will get worse.

As you said, I can see Carlton win a flag from 2024-28, especially if their Grand final opponent is a non vic side.

true... But Injuries, form and close games will have decided the fates and outcomes too.

People said Gold coast in 2011 was gonna dominate the AFL .

and when GWS came in 2012, them along with Gold coast were gonna win flags between them each year from 2015-2024 with all the draft picks they had.
Suns have been a flop
Giants have been pretty good, have come close a few times with prelims etc and should have more fans with the efforts they have produced. Always wonder if it would be same crowd numbers etc now if they won that flag.

Suns have been a flop because they have been poorly run and havent make finals.

List is pretty average imo.

Curnow, McKay then a perma crocked Weitering and Walsh.

They won't be winning a flag with their current setup.
Perma crocked Weitering? He's been pretty durable over the years outside of the calf in pre season this year. Won our BnF last year playing 26 games
